Recently visited Katherine and stayed at this motel. We had booked in advance and when we arrived, found that our rooms were upstairs. This wasn't suitable for our needs. Without a moment's hesitation, the receptionist showed us an alternative; two bedrooms divided by a jack and jill bathroom. Perfect! The rooms had pleasing decor, all facilities needed for self catering, were clean and comfortable. We were delighted and recommend this motel without hesitation.

Clean, comfortable, convenient

this is the third time I stay here.
location in the center of the town,less than 1km from woolworth. There are restaurant and swimming pool included. actually u don't need 2 get out 2 eat or have a fun . it's a heaven for tourist and business man.
the manager is really kind to us. what a lovely lady.
I will be back.

hospitality, cheap, convenient

Nice room and facilities not too far from town centre, and also recently upgraded. We dined at the restaurant several times and the food was very good, and affordable. This place is good value. I would recommend it to others, and will be back when next in Katherine.

Great room, excellent restaurant

Accommodation exceeded my expectations. Very comfy Snow White quality sheets and terrific mattress and pillows. Very clean. Great aircon and fan. For under $90 I had a swim in their clean pool as well. I think it was great value. Noted terrible comments in 2017 but I had no complaints. Staff very nice. Try it for yourself. 

Great value

Travelling through on the way home from remote work.
I had arrived late due to some car issues so the owners had already organised my booking for me as the office was closed and had placed my key in the room (was helpful)
Was annoyed at when I arrived and the front door was locked I could see a waitstaff in the restaurant and I knocked on the windows and door and she completely ignored me and was more interested in talking to the lone man in the bar.

The following morning on checkout (I was checking out at 9) there was no one in the office which I thought was odd for that time of the morning.

Rooms are average but comfy for one person.

Bathrooms are tiny. 


You get what you pay for 

Unfortunately, Katherine is an expensive place to stay. So silly prices are charged for crappy places. This being one.

The man at the front desk was lovely. Polite and helpful over the pone and in person but OMG I felt like I was checking into the Army Barracks from 1970.
Which I think I will look up the history of this place and see if it is. My son is army and his barracks are a lot nicer. And I live in dongas for work and again a lot nicer. This is exactly what this motel reminds me off though. Old army quarters.

The pool actually looked great, but that was the only thing on the outside that did.

No lifts, so you need to be able to walk up 2 to 3 flights of stairs for a lot of rooms. 
I booked the 2 rooms that adjoin with a bathroom in the middle.

My son had heard bad things about the motels in Katherine so I gave him the good room to try and reassure him it was fine. His/the main room looked refurbished. Bed, chairs & a table, kettle microwave etc all fine. I forgot to take a pic of his but it was nice, then you walk through the old bathroom into my room which was crappy. I couldn't understand why they'd refurbished one but not the other.

I had stains on my pillow case, sheets so thin you can see the label of the mattress, a noisy old air con unit from the 80s, holes in the wall (see the pics of these things).

This place needs a major renovation. It was a once off for us, we wouldn't stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it.

Once and once only

Didn’t expect much, but it was even worse than we imagined. We’ve stayed in some underwhelming places before, but this place takes the grottiest award. Here is a list of our concerns:

1. One cup and glass, for a double room.
2. Cobwebs and dirt on every surface. 
3. Someone else’s dishes draining on the sink.
4. Someone else’s used soap in the shower. 
5. Black mould on the ceiling, bathroom door, shower curtain and wall. 
6. Dust and filth under the bed.
7. Cigarette butts all over the floor on the "balcony".
8. Unclean bedding. 
9. Dirty microwave.
10. Dirty fridge.
11. Black mouldy filth in the bottom of the rubbish bin when we removed the plastic bag.

On a positive note, the kettle was clean, and we think the towels may have been fresh.

Had we not been so tired, we would have left in a heartbeat. As it was we cleaned the room thoroughly and disinfected all the mouldy areas. NEVER going back! 😡 

P.S. Would have given a fat ZERO if I could.

Don’t waste your money.

Don't bother place stinks and the restaurant is rubbish even the fido workers don't eat there. Bartender had his fingers on the drinks and couldn't speak English, when making a complaint was argumentative and wouldn't listen to reason. What a disgrace.

DISGUSTING

We have stayed here many times over the past 8 years and the previous management have made some improvements and the accommodation is basic but always clean. The new management however are a different story charging $200 for a basic smelly room. When I complained and asked for another room I was given a slightly better room that hadn’t been cleaned properly, with dead bugs and cockroaches. They provided towels only, no floor mat or hand towel an almost empty hand soap and a dirty fridge which included another cockroach. We went to the restaurant and used the toilet there and once again cockroaches, no toilet paper or hand soap. This place doesn’t meet Covid cleaning standards or even basic hygiene standards. Don’t stay here.

The worst motel in Katherine

This hotel is disgusting, we have booked for two nights and only stayed one. The entire place is filthy and run down. The pool is green and does not look safe to swim in. The management do not seem to have any idea what is going on.
