Great location however the apartment itself (unit 5) was filthy!

Upon arrival we were greeted by rusting trolleys in the walkways, this should have been a indication to leave there and then! Next my son found a pair of womens underwear behind the door in one of the rooms so safe to assume that the rooms were not cleaned properly.

The curtains are mouldy in both the lounge and bedrooms. The shower curtain in the bathroom was so mouldy that we had to pull it off before using the shower!

There was thick dust on the light fittings above our bed and the kitchen had ring marks on the counters that we had to clean off.

I can appreciate the age of the building however for the price would expect the rooms to at least be clean. The amenities could also do with an update. Very disappointing!

Unclean and dated

Just felt like a quick get away by the ocean, and talk about location!
This place certainly ticked a few boxes when it came to distance from the water ✅ close to restaurants ✅ water view ✅  if it wasn’t for the garbage truck at 6am my stay would’ve been perfect! As I was put to sleep by the soothing sounds of the surf & awoken by a council truck! Oh well can’t please everyone( but 6am on a SUNDAY?) thouroughly recommend the views from unit 15.


Sounds of the surf

I highly recommend these units. They are older but perhaps as a result are very spacious. The doors at the back and sliding doors to the balcony mean there is excellent cross ventilation. Only 30m to Kings Beach. Each unit has a dedicated, secure, undercover car park. The manager, Bill, was very friendly and helpful.

Well located gem

What's not to love? Husband and I stayed for a sneaky weekend getaway and although the weather was cool and overcast with periodic light showers, that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves.  There's nothing about this place that we didn't like, from "Happy Hour" on the balcony where we watched sky divers landing on the beach at the end of the road (pictured) to a sensational night's sleep listening to the soothing sound of the surf rolling in about 100 metres away. 

Dulkara is so close to the beach and the cafe precinct - perfect for coffee and eggs benny breakfasts!  We could breakfast, lunch and dinner within a short walk of the unit. There are a few popular cafes and the newly refurbished Kings Beach Surf Club for dining - you may need to book though, unfortunately we were unable to get a table for our spur of the moment decision and opted for the local fish n chipper instead.  The boardwalk from Kings Beach south around to Pumicestone Passage seems very popular, even at this time of year and offers sensational views as you stroll along.  The walk north from Kings to Shelly and Moffatt beaches is a great heart-starter, all paths are in great condition. If you're into surfing, bodyboarding or kayaking, this is your place. The patrolled beach is a short walk north. 

The building itself has a groovy MCM '770's vibe and the unit we stayed in was lovely.  The decor of number 16 is modern and beautifully beach themed. Plenty of books, magazines, puzzles for the kids. The bed was comfortable, and I loved the fact there were 3 ice cube trays in the freezer - excellent! It's 2 bedroom (1 x double, 2 x single) and the toilet is separate from the shower, big plus.  Showering after sandy, windswept excursions was delicious - plenty of hot water! 

All standard major appliances are available within the unit, there's plenty of crockery and glasses etc.  I love the fact you can drop your sandy shoes and hang damp towels in the foyer of the unit, there's even hooks for your hats!  It's this kind of attention to detail that makes your stay worthwhile.  The grounds of the unit complex are tidy and well maintained.  There's a pool, underneath car park and a lift if you need it, but we preferred the stairs.  

The highlight this trip? Seeing the Eastern Osprey nest up on the point past the surf club and watching the parent hovering overhead looking for the fish dinner for her babies, you could hear them calling out to one another. Amazing stuff. 

I've stayed in a range of accommodation around the globe in my time, from 2 to 5 star.  This place surpasses many of them  due to its "location location location" and the furnishings.  This is our second stay here and we will be back again, no matter what the time of year. Love love loved it.

Weekend retreat in Unit 16 ~ what a treat!

First trip to Coloundra and not disappointed. Not the best block on the street but has all you need, economical and manager friendly. Position is great. Good beach and eateries within walking distance. Sea view and parking.

Unit 16  is fresh and clean, much better than the website!
So close to the beach, uninterrupted views! This unit complex has a lift and our unit had a fully equipped kitchen and super comfy bed. Looks like brand new dining and lounge setting as well!
