Poorly kept, poorly serviced, over priced! 

Room needs a decent clean (stains on the floor, mould in shower) and  a renovation would not hurt (paint peeling, chipboard showing, potentially faulty wiring…. Fridge stopped working day 1). 

Most of this could be overlooked if I didn’t turn up to a room where there were no pillow cases. 

Think about that have you ever walked into a hotel room that cost $350+ per night and there were no pillow cases. I rang to ask… reason: linen shortage… wtf… the pillow cases were delivered within 30 mins, with a smile! 

The staff I interacted with were all pleasant and helpful. This review is a reflection on ownership/management!

Poor quality and severely over priced!

A bit of a disappointment,  room small, found left over vodka and yoguart in fridge, needs defrosting. Bed comfortable but single bed mattress protector on Queen size bed. Remote control didn't work. We replaced batteries.  Supplied kitchen wear but no table or room to make breakfast.  Power point behind microwave but hard to move to plug in kettle or toaster. Had to crawl down under cupboard to get toaster and jug out. Supplied 3 tea bags, plenty sugar but no coffee. No detergent to wash up in. Location good. Shower large with good water pressure   spa bath lovely. Plunge pool was cold and slimy,  needs attention coming into school holidays. Light over toilet not working   only smoke alarm outside door in hallway. 

Good location, but disappointed with room. 

We stayed in apartment 2 which had a beautiful view and is in a great location. An easy walk to the cafes and restaurants and the beach. However, the website is misleading and the photos look like they were taken when the units were new. The website shows unit 2 with a walk in shower, but instead has a shower over the bath. Not suitable for older guests and people with mobility issues. We did not sit on the lounge because it looked dirty and worn. The website forgets to tell you that the hot water system is in the small one door robe so don't take many clothes because they wont fit in. The lounge chair on the balcony is filthy and broken! The outdoor setting is worn and uncomfortable. The parking space available at a cost only accommodates a small car and is extremely difficult to manoeuvre the car into.  I couldn't open my door enough to get out of my car! The garage door was broken so no secure parking was available. I parked my car in the carpark opposite the complex and could see it at all times.The awnings over the windows were broken and ripped to pieces and banged on the wall all night in the breeze. BUT, let me tell you about the garbage service. If you like being woken up every morning at 4am, 5am, or sometimes 6am ( we stayed 7 Nights ) then this is the place for you. The cafes and restaurants line their bins up under the bedroom window. And as an added extra, on our last morning we also were lucky enough to get the smell from the garbage truck waft into the bedroom. Then there was the noise from the blower as the cafe cleaned the footpath at 6am every morning. The unit was supposed to be ready at 2pm however, we had to wait until 4pm for check in. I don't  find that acceptable when you have travelled for hours to  get there. When I mentioned the bathroom as not being properly advertised, the staff at the booking centre had no idea what the apartment was like. I also had to ask for a refund on the parking which I had been grossly overcharged. The staff didn't know that it was supposed to be $10 for the stay (if you can fit your car into the space ) and they charged me $20 per day!  Kingscliff is a beautiful location but next time I will be looking for a property that is managed better than this one.

Great location but in need of some serious TLC

What this place has is it's location opposite the beach and a great view of the ocean especially from the second floor one bedroom unit. We stayed in unit 3.
The list of what it doesn't have is pretty long.  There are no staff on the premises.  You have to check in at the El Paradiso which is a block and a half down the street.  You have to pay a $50 booking fee on top of the expensive room fee.  We stayed for 3 nights and paid $515 (including $50 booking fee).  There is no lift and no parking.  You have to park your car opposite the room on the beach side of the parking lot.  The rooms were probably lovely 40 years ago but they are very tired now.  The air con didn't work.  Thankfully the sea breeze kept us cool at night.  There were 4 remotes and no instructions on TV and DVD.  There was a rickety little table on the balcony and 2 chairs.  The bed was ok  but the lighting in the unit was inadequate (just 2 downlights) and 2 table lamps at each side of the bed.  No problems with fridge, cutlery and crockery and they supply tea towel, scratcher and cloth but no detergent.  Thanks for the Madura tea bags which was supporting a local north coast product.  The room was noisy and not well insulated.  Noisy from downstairs restaurant which decided to hammer and drill the evening it was closed.  The plunge pool was noisy and not inviting and there was a constant noise of running water in our bathroom.  I was worried that there were no fire alarms in the room and no evacuation plan.  I thought this was mandatory.   Woken early every morning by the garbage removal truck picking up the rubbish.  It was good to walk to and from cafes and restaurants.  Recommend the Bowling Club for service, food and presentation.  
A bit of a refurbishment and noise proofing this place would be worthwhile.  Otherwise the new units in the caravan park next to the dunes are stunning.  Congrats to the Kingscliff council for the great walkways along the beach - lots of seats, paths, tables, entertainment for the kids and sculptures and gardens.  A really lovely environment for everyone to enjoy.

Needs a refurb

We had 9 nights in a studio sea view unit. Great view and superb location. We walked everywhere.I wouldn’t recommend the studio for as long as we stayed- ok for 3-4 nights but no real facilities for a longer stay. It’s just like a motel room.
The bed had a way too soft mattress, no table to really eat at except the tiny balcony one. Cups and glasses etc missing and haphazard. Some were cracked. Big bath with spa was good, nice shower, but the fittings are dated and a bit on the mildew ish side.
The balcony and day bed were pretty dirty when we arrived also. 
Pretty noisy corridor too with your neighbors coming and going.
We didn’t use the pool- it’s tiny and looked a bit unkept so we gave it a miss. It’s a plunge pool in a tiny outdoor terrace.
Overall not too bad- the view and location make up for the other stuff. Though we both have bad backs from sleeping on the caving in mattress! 

Great location but tired 

Let me tell you that the view from this apartment is magical. It is centrally located in the Centre of Kingscliff.
The apartment was quite large and fully self contained. It had everything you would need to self cater if you wanted to but with so many choices for dining right a your doorstep you are not left without choice for dining options. 
The apartment is located over a couple of restaurants and coffee shops so it an be noisy at night. 
Now that’s about all the good comments I can make, just trying to make a booking was a job In itself. The apartment is managed by a booking agent and they try to manage a few other places in Kingscliff- I had to call them 4 times to try and just make the booking, no one returned my calls or messages left. They told me the unit would be ready for an early check in at 1; we finally got in at 2.30 after the cleaning staff did a very hurried job to get the place quickly cleaned. It was just passable. 
It seems the staff, who are very friendly: but honestly they all seemed quite clueless. It’s a real shame as Kingscliff is a wonderful place.

Great view

We stayed in a hotel room on 24th October 2019 for our recent wedding anniversary. I sent an email a day before our arrival requesting to park our car early so we could go to lunch without having to move the car later. I received a nice response saying that wasn't a problem. When we got there we were informed our room didn't have a carpark and none were available. 
So after lunch we went to our room to find complete and utter filth and a broken non-functioning fridge. The fridge was defrosting as the freezer had collapsed into the fridge compartment. We had nowhere to put our bottle of champagne and there was only 1 champagne glass anyway. The fridge which has obviously not been working properly for some time going by the damage to the chipboard. I kindly removed the rest of the melting ice so it didn't further damage the cabinetry and carpet. TripAdvisor comments have previously mentioned a poorly performing fridge for the last year.
In order to go out on the balcony I had to sweep up all the sand as it hadn’t been swept. Not exactly something I felt I should be doing as a guest who had just arrived.
Then the final straw was the unclean toilet and faeces. So romantic!
When I complained, a lady came to clean the bathroom and sweep the balcony. No apologies for the interruption to our day. She said she had switched off and started to defrost the fridge when she was in the room earlier. So they were aware of the non-functioning fridge. Everyone knows bar fridges can be purchased for $200. Spend the money! It shows you respect your guests and their experiences in your properties.
An esky was provided however the lid was also filthy. Looks like something that was on a fishing boat and then stored in a garage for 5 years without ever being cleaned. 
In short, our anniversary was ruined because they couldn't be bothered buying a new fridge and checking if their cleaners are doing their job. TripAdvisor comments show lack of cleanliness is a reoccurring theme. Yet no action has been taken. We know the property isn't new but there is no excuse for filth, lack of overall cleanliness and maintenance. It's just pure laziness and greed. 
We left at the crack of dawn the next day and bought our champagne home. 
I emailed the property directly the next day expressing our extreme disappointment including photos and it was completely ignored. So please no disingenuous responses pretending otherwise.

Filthy Room and Broken Fridge

I stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment with my partner. We loved the access to shops, cafes and the beach which was literally at our doorstep. The room was extremely clean and the beds were so soft and comfy. Had the best nights sleep which really took away the stress of work. The staff was also extremely friendly which made our stay that much more pleasurable. Thanks Marine Boutique!

Ideal location. Romantic getaway with my partner with the best amenities at my doorstep!

We enjoyed the setup and location. The room was airy, comfortable and well appointed. The staff were helpful and cheery. The 'Brothers' cafe down below was a good place for breakfast. The surf club across the road was great for dinner. There were many positive aspects and only a few not so positive. The carpark is tight but doable. The waste paper bin still had some trash inside. the sliding shutters needed some lubricant. I would recommend this place to others and we would be happy to stay another time. Cheers

A pleasant sojourn.

The apartment 101 itself was ok but the coffee shop directly below started banging, hammering, emptying garbage and generally didn't care that anyone was sleeping at 3am onwards, both nights there.
I booked direct and had to email twice to get the terms and conditions sent for cancellation, even thought they are supposed to give when you book.
Would I book again, no, definitely other choices. 

Great position, apartment ok but noise from below at all hours of night spoilt weekend.
