We had a lovely stay on the Queens birthday weekend. Close to everything Port Douglas has to offer. We loved relaxing out on the balcony as it felt so open overlooking the gardens. Comfortable bed with an open plan and tropical feel. Will definitely be back.

Breath of fresh air

Absolutely loved it here! Stayed in the "bird of paradise" and it was so cute! My sister and I shared a king bed with my pooch and it was perfect! Over looking the pool and peeking out through the trees, so peaceful! Would 100% stay here again, thank you so much Craig!

Sister Stay

Stayed in "Birds of Paradise", discovered after the first night how filthy the place was. Toilet grime all around it, drain in the bath full of hair, mouldy black build up in the corners of the bathroom floor, the towel hooks were black, tea towel hooks black, the dust on the walls everywhere was visible. Even grime marks on the walls, cobwebs in corners, the list goes on. I emailed "Craig" advising the key was on the bench, i can't stay there anymore and attached pics of the condition of villa. I didn't ask for compensation, i just copped it on the chin. No reply, no apology, nothing, no "let me get it cleaned straight away so you can stay the extra night" . Nothing at all. This booking was a verbal casual arrangement with "Craig" over the phone for $150 for the 4 nights (only stayed 2), he said "i can do $150, how does that sound", (as i was actually staying with my parents in another villa and i needed some extra/separate space). It was vacant, i was of the belief, this was a special price/special deal for a quick deal. I have now discovered he has charged me $600. Not the discussed $150.00. He is refusing to refund me the gap. I don't think i should have even been charged anything after discovering the state of the place. I would have rather stayed in an abandoned warehouse. I have been doing a little research and can see the condition of the villa is as per previous google reviews, so this is just a perpetual scam - give dirty properties and see what they can get away with.  If they were genuine about taking pride in their property and wanting it cleaned, they would act on the previous reviews and ensure all future tenants have a healthy, clean, happy stay.
In my email dispute with him regarding the overcharge, he is now saying it was $150 PER NIGHT, however that was never discussed, he never said per night. I would never have agreed to that and would have just stayed with my parents if that were the case. I was of the belief this was a special last minute deal given my family were already staying in the resort.
So be warned, dishonest manager, doesn't act on the negative feedback that is given, even my parents villa was not properly cleaned, it was nowhere near as bad, but it doesn't appear to be professionally cleaned. Do not stay in "birds of paradise" villa. It has high vaulted ceilings and you can see the lines of dust gatherings on the walls. I have all photographic evidence of this and have attached pics to support my review.  The whole place should be bulldozed and rebuilt. I have never come across a property so dirty. The only reason we lasted 2 nights was because the first night, we didn't properly look as it was late, it wasn't until the next night, after i put my daughter to sleep that i was able to take a closer look. We didn't use the bathroom or kitchen, we just used my parents. I honestly don't know what's worse, the condition of the villa, or the lack of morals from the managers. I didn't ask to have it cleaned, as i was happy to just cop the $150 on the chin and get on with the holiday and lesson learnt, don't stay there again, and always inspect your accommodation immediately upon arrival. I have also now learnt to only go through professional legitimate companies, and formalize all arrangements in writing, clarifying the exact costs in writing, not just over the phone. I have also noticed on reviews, Craig will reply to the negative reviews, with somewhat of a sympathetic tone or say "we take pride in our cleaning and you should have contacted us" but he is only replying like this because it is a public forum and wants potential tenants to think he was unaware or the review is unfair.   His attitude outside of this is very different. Do not trust this place. I have now had to refer the matter to retrieve the unauthorized overcharged amount.

We had a great time staying at the Hibiscus apartment, whilst it was a little dated in appearance for the price and amenities I was extremely happy. 

The apartment was well maintained and clean so all we had to do when we arrived was unpack and relax. It had a well appointed kitchen and laundry (which was great for our longer stay). The grounds were very nice, a lovely water feature and an awesome heated pool and spa as well as a non-heated pool - which was exactly what was needed on some of the days there. 

It’s so close to the big banana, which we also enjoyed immensely able to go ice skating in the morning and water slides in the afternoon - the kids also loved the candy making demonstrations. 

Very impressed with the apartment management, as the place was well looked after and we were made to feel very welcome. 

Thoroughly enjoyed our time

We’ve stayed here for years . It’s basic but usually quiet and clean . The management structure has changed and the service is poorer for it . The bedspreads looked dirty the fan above the stove covered in dust and not working . Damaged blinds . The bathroom was the last straw . Obviously uncleaned properly for a very long time . It took 2 women the next day to do a very poor and sloppy job of cleaning the shower and spilling bleach all over the towels . We’re looking for new accomodation for future visits . Very sad ! 

Filthy ! 

Older style unit and quite roomy. we booked a one bedroom unit and at first was disappointed not to see a washing machine as advertised. Further investigation found it in a room under the unit.  Only one hot plate work and the other was slow to heat up but an electric fry pan was provided.   Bed was comfortable.  Spa was old and the position of the jet did do anything but it was  lovely big bath and for the price paid I think it was  value for money. Disappointing there was no staff on site and no form or way to communicate and maintenance issues.

Mini Break

Our family including dog have been staying here for years, we are loyal customers and can't fault the villas, location and gardens. However the lovely managers advised the facilities are now managed separately and it shows. The spa heater was broken, the normally heated pools were freezing and not cleaned properly. Our children were very disappointed and we will rethink our decision to stay in the future.

Great accommodation, poor facilities

Whilst this maybe a slightly older style accommodation, it's ALWAYS been spotless every time we have stayed. The owners & staff are very friendly, the setting (beautiful gardens throughout) & the peacefulness & privacy are the main reasons we go back time after time

Great Accomodation

What an amazing place to stay! The manager was super helpful to accommodate my families needs and so friendly. He made our stay even more pleasurable with his friendly and down to earth personality, he made us feel like family, it was fantastic! 
The amenities here are superb with pleanty to entertain the whole family. The villas was just perfect with everything we needed. 
The gardens are second to none! You really do feel like you are in a tropical oasis in some exotic location. I will not stay anywhere else again, this is the one.

Super amazing

Absolutely amazing well kept and maintained gardens. 
We had the Gardenia  villa right on the lagoon and loved waking up to see the water birds from our veranda every morning.
The kids loved the plentiful  wildlife. 
So many lizards dragonflys birds and butterflies. 
Canoeing and the pools were a big hit with the whole family.
Very friendly and helpful staff. 
Quiet and peaceful area but also close enough to Coffs Harbour to be convenient for sight seeing. 
Will be recommending to all our friends and family.
