Caravan park provides little or no shade with extrnely tight sites. Obviously wit redevelo.ment of park capacity is priority over comfort maybe they should rename the park to Longreach Gravel Pit. We had an ensuite site and when we returned home after dinner discovered external light not working .. great when my wife has a sught problem . Note to management when the Toilet cistern and seat are starting to delaminate please replace. The above two items are a simple fix by putting on a cleaners check list.Park was expensive and we wont return . No need to reply as I am using our travel alias

Consider elsewhere 

We had a powered ensuite site.  This is a big park, very clean with good sized, level sites with cement pads on red crushed gravelly rock.  Onsite restaurant (we didn't try it, but looked very nice).   Good amount of bins.  Clean general amenities and our ensuite was a good size and well appointed.   Short drive (or if you are energetic an okay walk) to  the Qantas Founders Museum and Stockman's Hall of Fame.  Also a pick-up point for the Outback Pioneers Riverboat Cruise (wonderful).   Treat was the 3 brolgas that walked though the part in the morning and afternoon and the stunning sunrises and sunsets.  Towards the road there is currently a big grassy open area that was visited by emus and kangaroos during our stay.   Only very slight distraction was that it is well lit at night, maybe some domes that focus the light on the ground would be great.

Woodshed Bistro food and entertainment is fantastic.

Sites have been upgraded and the location is great for the Qantas and Stockman's experience.

Nice little cabin for a night while travelling from Darwin through to Brissy! 

Receptionist was lovely and easy to book in and easy to leave your key for the eager drivers that leave earlier then the sun up! 

Nice, comfy and easy for a weary traveller 

A one bedroom cabin stay. Having stayed a Tourist Park many years previously, it was nice to see a different section of the caravan park. Newly created cabin section has a car park near the door of each cabin as well as an allocated carpark to accommodate trailers or larger vehicles. With a separate exit for cabin guests. This was a quiet section to access tours or attractions of greater Longreach. The cabin is neat and has enough space for two (maybe not with our amount of bags lol). Has a small verandah and enough space to enjoy. A short walk away, towards the reception area, say hello to the resident chickens.

Cabin Stay

There are lots of caravan sites here, but not all have a cement block. Must of had a lot of rain weeks before we arrived, as sites was extremely chopped up and difficult to get van in a decent position.Sites are all drive through. Ensuites are excellent. Entry and exit a bit tricky- lots of potholes to dodge, and tight in places. Otherwise a very convenient place to stay with attractions near by.

Convenient spot to stay

Off the beaten path but we utterly enjoined our stay.
The cabins are aged but well maintained.
The manager is so friendly that even things that are not quite right,  we ignored.
Price was good for what we got.
I would definitely go back there.

Great little park

This is a big Caravan Park and I could image it would be very busy during their peak season. We had an ensued site for our camper trailer. The site was practical and the ensuite was clean and functional. We used the guest laundry and it was also functional. It is close the the main tourist attractions i.e Qantas, so its a perfect location. We also took advantage of the onsite "Pub" the Woolshed, The food was good and we enjoyed the entertainment night. A point of note, this is outback QLD, so if you're looking for nice grassy sites, you need to revise your expectations. I  suggest you also invest in an impact drill and suitable pegs for "drilling" into the solid ground to set up that tent and/or guide ropes. 
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Practical stay

Stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin for one night. The cabin was clean, well appointed and warm. Parked right beside the cabin. It was extremely windy when we were there so we decided to stay in instead of visiting the on site restaurant. Staff were friendly at check in and check out. The park is huge but it was very quiet in our area.

Nice cabin

Not much choice in town. Ok but expensive for red dirt sites . Dusty and flies were bad in August. Would not like to be here in summer. Town is interesting and  a good variety of shops. Cannot recommend the Only Butcher in town.  IGA is good.  The restaurant at the tourist park called "The Woolshed is very good . Nice food and if you book  the right days of the week you get a good entertainer/singer /guitarist, for free.. .Really enjoyed it. Staff friendly at restaurant. Not so much at park office.
