Imagine walking into a park with all intentions of booking a site / cabin to then be asked as walking in “what do you want” … let’s just say I’ve never walked out so fast.
Admin lady was also rude and only cared about the people paying ‘rent’ for their longer stays.

Rude

The current Owners / Managers need to put more effort in to this park. A stay over Easter  and the park grounds were not mowed, pool not cleaned and in general not a good 
 first impression. The slab sites are all cracked and uneven and are a trip hazard. It is a large spacious area with a very good camp kitchen and the amenities were clean. Did not stay or look in cabins but they looked like they are all in need of some TLC and maintenance. . Lots of other stay options in Mackay before I would stay here.

Not one for us. Under $30 a night for powered site. Has potential to be very nice park with some TLC. 

We are an elderly couple who stayed at this location for 3 days. 3 hours after checkout we were phoned and accused in an offensive and rude manner of stealing an item from our cabin. The item was later found being unrelated to us and no responsibility was taken for their actions. It is very unfair and unprofessional to be treated in such a manner until facts are straight.

Unprofessional treatment by management

I hate to sound like a Karen 😕 But honestly I would never go back. And suggest people don't support this business.
I started a long term residency in one of the smaller cabins and stayed for approximately 10 months...
The staff are absolutely polite, and welcoming.
After a few months, I was asked to do some cleaning work. I have worked in a family member Motels previously, so thought why not?
Here's where my issue is... I felt like after a while I just had no choice. There is a very high standard for cleaning the cabins, as it should be in every accommodation! This is not what my problem was.
Each cabin, was expected to be cleaned by 1 person. Fully furnished, fully equipped cabins.
This took about 30 min each cabin to 40 min depending on the type.
The hourly rate, was $8 an hour.
It is hot in Qld, and it was hard work! 
I feel like I was coersed into slave labour.
Sometimes, I had to do 12 cabins a day, by myself.
On my days off, they would constantly come knocking on my door early in the morning to ask me to work that day.
I have a disability, which they are aware of and I feel used and taken advantage of, put me in a position were I went against my morals and broke the law by being persuaded and agreeing to it, a wrong I am going to make right.

I was hammered one day, because I didn't notice a pair of socks left under a bed.
Otherwise, they said I was doing great. 
Anyway, after all these hours of work about 4 days a week give or take a day or two, my cash. Cheque. Would be 110-140 dollars a week.
They knew that I was paying $500 a fortnight to live there, and I literally had $180 to buy food, anything else I needed for the fortnight.
I asked if the hours I worked could be taken off some of my rent, nope.
At the very end of my residency, about 8 or 9 months of paying 500 every 2nd Monday morning, which adds up to a big sum of money.
My pay was a day late, and I asked if I could pay the next 2 weeks the next day (Tuesday), I always paid 2 weeks in advance first thing in the morning!!
I got told to 'pay today or we will have to kick you out'. I thought wow, that's nice. 
I sold some of my jewellery to the owner, and she said I was selling it for too much ($20 was the price, for an hour of beading plus the cost of the beads.) When I lowered the price to $10, she went and got me a $2 coin because I was then 'under pricing'....Thanks! 
I got asked to fix one of the staffs Swarovski bracelet, to which I did and never even got a 'thankyou'.
$8 an hour, and some cabins were absolutely TRASHED. Food everywhere, rubbish all over the place, mud, dirty nappies, dirty dishes microwave dirty mirrors the whole works. 
Do not give these money hungry people your money, until they start paying their workers a fair wage and by the books.

Review from 2018 as a long term tenant

Had a 2 night stay here in a cabin. Huge pool. Cabins looking rather run down. No supplies tea, coffee etc. It was OK for what we needed. Seems to be a few permanents their which weren't a bother. Gardens need a lot of maintenance.
Bed was comfy. OK for 1 or 2 nights. 

2 night Cabin stay

Stayed in September - twice, because I loved it.  Massive caravan/cabin park.  Plenty of room for caravans, tents and campervans.  Located on a main road, so some traffic noise, at times.  Very handy to the Bushman's Bakery - delicious pies, bread and cakes - and IGA, bottleshop, discount chemist and small shopping centre (massage/butchers, etc).  Huge amenities block (18 showers and 18 toilets in Ladies, most likely ditto for mens, and usually there's only one or two other people there) - older style, but spotlessly clean.  Huge laundry, with washers, dryers, etc.  Older-style swimming pool, but cleaned daily.  Shallow-end partitioned off for younger children, with a 1.1m to 1.8m main pool.  Plenty of shade.  Quiet most of the time.  Lots of permanent residents - mostly workers.  Highly recommend, especially when they have their 3-nights for 2-nights fee running.

Great Location, Excellent Service & Facilities

The powered sites are good and fairly quiet. Camp kitchen was clean, plenty of seats, big TV and basic kitchen appliances. 
The downfall was the amenities... the toilets were not cleaned (even though they closed the toilets for an hour a day), there was no soap in the men’s toilets and the female showers did not have hot water. When we raised these issues with the staff at reception they were not the friendliest and brushed the issue off saying they would have to wait until someone else came in.
Wouldn’t stay there for a long time, but not bad for an overnight stop over. 

Basic

My teenage daughter and I only required overnight accommodation during a recent road trip. I imagine this place in its heyday would have been quite nice unfortunately it seems to be getting away from them a little. Although the lady at the front desk was quite helpful the gardens were not maintained which didn’t help aesthetic‘s. The cabinets self had fresh linen and overall would be considered clean however no one had obviously Been in recently as we had to sweep the floor of Dead insects. Internally this is probably the only thing I could fault them on. Served a purpose well however Would probably try somewhere else next time in Mackay

Adequate overnight accomodation

Swindled me out of an extra hundred dollars. Couldn’t give me a proper reason. Tried to move us from the cabin we were staying at when I booked in for another week. ROACHES. was awfully rude upon checkout. Receptionist/owner is the most rude, narcissistic, self centred, invasive person I’ve met.

Don’t stay here.

We were here for two nights and we had a very unpleasant experience. we couldn't have our dinner because the tables were dirty and full with dead bugs. The staff weren't friendly and not really helpful.
