Stayed here for four nights as everywhere else was fully booked. The bar area is ok, the staff are generally pleasant. But that's where the positivity comes to a shuddering halt.

The rooms whilst clean are poorly furnished and  small, the bathroom is tiny, no hot water in the sink so had to shave using the shower head.   Though if you don't want a nights sleep this is the place for you. Looks like it shares a carpark with the Mackay Formula One Team, an industrial premises that starts  it's machinery and deliveries from very early on. Let's not also forget the passing "locals" who are clearly nocturnal. Not for the faint hearted.



Drab, noisy and disturbing 

The staff were great but the food was outstanding. If they take the time for the little details like removing shakers for grinders, providing coasters for the table adding extra attention to detail then they would have received a 5/5. Perfect steaks with that char from the BBQ flavour. crisp fresh salad with free side gravy. That was a nice extra. Sweet, spicy Korean Chicken burger? Are you kidding me? Winner Winner you know what! lol Definitely a place to make a local, regular haunt. Highly recommend.

Excellent fresh, fast and filling food

Food and service was great. A table of 7 and we used the table bar code and the Pass App. Bar staff super quick to table and very polite. Food was super fast to the table and all meals were large portions and thoroughly enjoyed. The beef schnitzel parmigiana was huge and super tasty.

Family Sunday lunch.

Fair distance into town but really well located for botanic gardens. Reasonable location for bus n train. Is a typical hotel motel I.e. access to pub, food n gaming. Was good to see a guest laundry with 2 washers n 2 dryers, plenty of washing powder just gotta ask :)  Keep up the good work..

When a pub is what you want

Hubby and I enjoyed a nice meal at The Boomerang. 
He received two pieces of fish with his seniors meal and took a piece home. 
My beef salad was very fresh and was plenty. 
Fast service, friendly staff. This pub has had an upgrade and is great. Kids room also, toilets clean. Lots of pokies.

Mum and I were travelling and needed a place to stay, the place is quite old, but very clean, and the staff were very helpful and obliging.If you want a cheap place to stay, I would recommend it ! The food in the pub was excellent , we had steak sandwiches... really nice tucker ! 

Really Nice , Great value for money , nice food in the pub..

We stayed in the "hotel" for one night on our way up to Cape Hillsborough. According to the website, reception hours are till 12pm, but we had to go to the gaming room to find someone who could check us in. It feels like the staff wasn't really pleased about new guests and, additionally, they charged us twice for one night. To be fair, I could get my money back immediately after I had complained about the mistake. 
The location wasn't nice, even if we arrived in the dark and couldn't see that much. The room looked acceptable and clean at the first glance, but after I had slept in the bed, little, itchy red dots and blemishes (probably bites) appeared all over my legs the following day. 
All in all, it just proved a disappointing choice and I wouldn't stay there again for more than $30pp.

only a less-than-ideal solution

Upon arriving reception tried to charge more than we were qouted on BOOKING. com. Once shown receipt we were given the correct price. Room looks like something from the 70's. Beds  were very uncomfortable.We then went for dinner and ordered medium rare steaks, what came out was so well done we could have resoled an old boot with. Meals were sent back and when they were bought out again 1 was still over cooked and neither had seasoning on it. On the plus side, when we complained we were given a refund and 2 free drinks. I understand it's a budget motel but come on guys.

YOU'RE KIDDING

Budget meal was awesome - Took grandkids - Tables covered with paper so they could draw on them - had a kids room - Us adults enjoyed the peace while they played.  Staff lovely - even chef came out and said our meals would not be to far behind the kids meals.  Great service guys - keep it up

Great budget meals

These reviewers who knock this place obviously don't understand it's a budget stop. Great meals ... kids stoked they got a free icecream and crayons to write on the table. I've stayed here twice and plan a third. Ther staff are lovely and if you pay in cash the deposit is automatically returned. My rooms have been clean but simple and yes it's in an industrial area but not noisy enough I can't sleep. I don't expect anything else but a good bed and good staff and I've gotten both. If you would rather spend heaps for a flash room then go elsewhere. I'm coming back here though as I'd rather spend my money on their dinner menu and visit the beach.
