On the map it’s right in the middle of Sydney and Melbourne so I thought this would make a great home base to launch day trips in either direction. I was wrong. The highways here force you to go slow and take forever. It took 8hrs from Sydney to Mansfield and it took 2.5hrs from Mansfield to Melbourne. And Melbourne closes everything by 5pm, the malls close at 5pm! Some places, super few, close by 6pm. So had to leave the resort super early to get anything done in Melbourne, felt like Cinderella, and had to spend 5hrs driving each day we decided to go to Melbourne AND the gas is outrageously expensive!!! Glad I rented a hybrid Toyota Camry that accepted the E10 (cheapest) fuel but still paid a fortune in gas. The only convenient place to go to was Mt. Bullet for snowboarding lessons for my son because it seems that everyone from Melbourne comes by way of Mansfield to get to Mt. Buller. But it was still close to an hour drive each way. And you still need to pay for the entrance and parking there, so getting there is not the end of it. Oh, then there’s the lift you need to pay for in order to get any lessons, yup was expensive but unforgettable for my son.

I found it inconvenient/weird/wrong that they had one single heater for the whole 2-bedroom house and it was in the living room. The beds had a wire underneath to “heat” your bed. But 1) it just gave me a sore back from lying over the thick wires and 2) I was to scared of getting electrocuted from that thing. It’s not unthinkable that somewhere down the wire there could be something frayed and all of a sudden your butt is sitting over live wires passing 230V under your fanny. My wife suggested removing the darn thing and setting it aside after like the second night and sore back and sore neck. After we moved that out of the way the bed was comfy but a bit cold. There again, it took me a while to discover that I could use the ceiling fan to mix the cold air in the bedroom with the warm air in the living room, I just had to flip the switch on the motor to make it go in the opposite direction and pull up the cold air instead to push it down over our faces, we also had to leave the bedroom door open : ) so the last day of our stay was actually the most comfortable. Wish I did all those things from the get go. So at least you can head my advice and have a nicer stay than I did. I really liked that every house had a DVD player and that you could borrow as many DVDs as you wanted for free from the lobby.

Rustic but Clean and Comfortable

Our lakeside villa had exceptional views of Lake Eildon. You could just sit in the lounge room, with the door open and drink in the tranquillity. Great unit set up with 2 bedrroms - en-suite to master and a trundle bed in the twin room. Great kitchen set up with full oven which made cooking so easy. It was such a lovely time we booked another week here just 7 weeks after we returned. Only negative was how far away the pool complex was from the units.

Great Timeshare resort with some Amazing Views

this resort is a wonderful place if you are a fisherman, you can bring your own boat as there is plenty of room to park your trailer, many kangaroos can be seen on the grounds, lots of play areas for the kids and the big kids as well, nice indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

A very tranquil and relaxing resort with so many activities to do with the kids. Lovely and friendly staff who very helpful and warm since my arrival.
I can't fault the unit which was very clean with all the necessities. Very cozy and enjoyed the indoor family spa as well as the new spa and sauna.

Lovely place to connect with nature and take time to relax with the family 

The resort had anything you needed. Right on lake Eildon and we had a unit looking over the lake.
Good size 2 bd unit, in a peaceful and relaxing setting.
Kangaroo every where and fishing you could do. 
It is 15km from town.

Magnificent

We loved the combination of bushland and lakeside location as well as being able to observe at close hand the variety of native birds and wildlife. Located out of town the arrangement for one dinner delivery and one pancake breakfast on location was appreciated and enjoyed by all.

A most enjoyable place to stay if you want to get away from crowds and noise. Away from Mansfield but close enough to get everything you need. Had plenty of facilities to keep you entertained  if you were happy to stay at the resort

A quiet place to relax

We really enjoyed our stay at Mansfield. The resort grounds are extensive, the units very spacious and the wildlife ( birds and kangaroos) are very special. There is lots to see and do in the area and the resort provides a comfy oasis to return to after a day of exploring.

Country Resort

This place has everything that is needed for a enjoyable and relaxed stay in the country, close to a great country town in Mansfield, what more would you want. Mansfield Golf Club great place for dinner, also the Mansfield Hotel, some nice shops for browsing too.

A need for nothing.

A good size unit with adequate facilities. Would have liked a TV in the main bedroom as well, TV in the lounge room quite small. Resort facilities very good. The wildlife everywhere added to the experience. Waking to kangaroos feeding outside the windows was a great. The views over Lake Eildon and surrounding hills just beautiful
