OMG this motel was so clean, parking right outside your room.The manager greeted me at the office door . The room had wine glasses, fluffy towels bowls, plates and plenty of tea and coffee would stay again. The gardens outside were kept well and the town of Maryland is only a stroll away will definitely stay again.

Cleanest Motel

The owner is rude and not suited to the service industry.  He'll cancel your booking at the drop of a hat for very little reason.  Place is very clean, though, and mostly empty.  The highway noise at night is loud too.

Rude manager

Do not recommend! Rude proprietor rang me back after 7pm to cancel my booking that is in 5 days time, after accepting it earlier today. We are doing a couple of days of cycle touring, which old mate knew about as we discussed if there was somewhere secure to leave the bikes. Apparently, rain is forecast next week and we were told we might make the new carpets wet. So much for country hospitality.

Awful - Would not recommend

Stayed for one night, reasonable enough place that’s for sure. Rang a few days later to ask for a receipt / tax invoice..... was screamed at down the phone by a raving lunatic.... told to f#%k off repeatedly as he was far too busy to provide a receipt, he also said I had my chance to ask for one at reception on the day... what a loose unit hey. Extremely poor service, possibly needs to dry himself out I reckon. 

My admin assistant called and very politely asked him for a receipt, she experienced the almost exact same tirade. Now I have to give her a day off after being screamed at for asking for a receipt. 

I can promise you that the company I work for has this place listed as “All staff - do not book a room here”. 

Don’t stay here, EVER !!!

I called by to book in, I was met by a man who called himself the manager. 
I said I am here to book in and informed him my son had rung and checked out what the price was and if the restaurant was open. 
He informed him the restaurant was closed and the night would cost $110.00. 
He told me it was $130 and that he didn’t inform my son that it was $110.00. 
He was the most self opinionated nasty person I have ever met. He told me he didn’t tell my son any prices and more or less called me a liar. 
I am sure how I looked made the price. 
DON’T GO THERE, IF YOU DO, GOOD LUCK. 
People like him should not be in business. 
I noticed he didn’t have any customers, I wonder why.  Nice place with a very arrogant manager that still causes me grief. In life I find treating others how you would to be treated is a good way of achieving a good result. 
The future will show who is right. 
I found other accommodation with very sincere caring people. It’s a pleasure to stay with them.

“BEWARE”

I know this is not a normal "travellers tale" but I think it needs to be told. Marulan/Tallong recently came under very severe bushfire threat. I was told, as I am disabled, that evacuation was a good idea. After 3 days of choking smoke and frazzled nerves, my wife and I agreed. We went to the Motor Inn. Rooms were offered at half price (near enough) and both the owner and his dedicated staff actually remained full-time at the Motel to ensure our comfort and safety. We were not the only people in this predicament. There were at least 3 other disabled people there and the rest of the rooms were full every night. Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, was too onerous or bothersome to Paddy and his wonderful staff. I read some previous reviews here that carped on about the quality of the restaurant food. It needs to be stated - the restaurant was and is a seperate business, having nothing to do with the Motor Inn. As for the rooms, they were really well appointed. We lacked nothing for a 3 day enforced stay. Beds were extremely comfortable, supplies were kept up - tea, coffee, milk etc - and Paddy came to check on us every hour or so. He really is a great raconteur, with an incredible life story . Well worth a yarn or two. In short - this Motel, the owner and the staff (Lili) need OAM's, not brickbats and silly negative comments. Paddy..... many, many thanks. You went over and above.

Above and beyond assistance

You drive up to the motel and see a fantastic looking restaurant out the front and its not open. Rooms are large has all the mod cons you need , king bed is huge and comfortable , shower was good,  i dont understand why you have to pay more ,just because it has a king bed ?

One night stay

Clean,modern,quiet,easy access from the highway north or south,well worth a stop.orchids growing outside your door,easy parking,well kept gardens, and the manager has many good stories to tell,as well as the resident dogs.Very enjoyable stay.

Nice modern motel close to the highway

Stopped here for 1 night on a road trip, we loved the friendly host and well presented motel. The room was  clean and comfortable and the shower was just like home with plenty of hot water. We had dinner at the restaurant the dinner was really tasty and top marks to the friendly young girl serving us really good country hospitality.

Absolutely Horrible!!!

The menu is very small and doesn’t even have family favourites like chicken schnitzel or a standard basic gravy.

We waited over an hour for our meal and when we got it, it was very small, it wouldn’t have been enough to feed a hungry person that’s for sure. Asked for veggies instead of salad and only got carrot and zucchini with a garnish as our veggies.

The whole meal tasted horrible, was unable to eat it.

However the staff were friendly and welcoming but that won’t be enough to get me back through the doors.

Lucky Marulan has KFC next to the Motor Inn!!!
