Don’t stay here unless you are seeking a visit to your Valyrian maester for greyscale treatment after your stay. 

A one night stay in this establishment left us covered in a rash of unknown origin. Don’t go there!



Greenhouse greyscale 

During our month in Australia, it was for me the worst bagpackers house I stayed in. Some reasons :

- the staff don't say anything to the guests who left dirty plates and pans next to the sinks. During 4 nights / 5 days, the staff just came to take some coffee, say hello to the people, and even they are nice, they don't manage the bad habbits of the guests. You can see how dirty it is on the pictures I sent.

- we had a double room with my girlfriend, and we where close to the men bathroom. I said 2 times at the reception that the leaks of 3 (!) showers made a lot of noise to our room. This bathroom is big, and the walls of the rooms are thin (another bad thing about this place), so when those leaks happens, or when someone use a speaker during a shower, the noise is not so disturbing from inside, but it resonates a lot to our room, and woke me up some mornings. The taps of the showers are really hard to close (I closed those a lot), so I understand that people can't close them well, but I don't understand why nobody fix after I told reception twice ! Or that the housekeeping don't say that to the maintenance when they clean the place.

- last thing : I've been locked in my room twice. Each time, my girlfriend went outside to the toilets, and when she tried to come back, she couldn't open the door, and me either. The first time, reception came, opened the door and said they will tell someone to fix it. Two days later, on our departure date, the same situation happened. My girlfriend came with a receptionist, and I said that it happened already. 5 minutes later, a person from the maintenance came to fix it (finaly !). I asked him if he could do so, but a bit later, as we were about to leave, but he explained us that he had to do it immediatly, because if an emergency and an evacuation should happen, we should be able to get out. You know what ? I understand that. And as I am working as an Assistant of Front Office Manager in hotels since 7 years, I couldn't realise that I missed that point. Maybe as I am on holiday. But your staff to who I told those things, are they on holiday ??!?

You should really improve on those things. And I really can't recommand your place. Mistakes could happend, but when the kitchen is a mess during 5 days, and when a mistake is about the safety of the guest, those are big problems.

By the way, about the pictures :
- the pasta plate stayed in the kitchen 24 hours
- the box for sugar coffee (etc) are really dirty
- the racks for forks and spoons (etc) are 'swimming' in some dirty water. Hard to clean when the towels to dry the tools are always wet.

Bad management

If I travel to Melbourne again, I never live this terrible hostel.

1. Poor wifi-connection: It's ok I always reconnect the wifi, but I always wait very long time for the respond. My phone loads slowly even I connect wifi and login the account. Those staff are seem rubbish 'cause they don't know how to fix the wifi problem. They push all the responsibilities to my device. Come on. My device is advanced, not the old Nokia.

2. How can 6 people in a house share 2 plug????? Stupid people will not provide this kind of useless system. Please, use your own sensibility.

3. No water fountain in every floor: In fact, there are no any water fountains in this hostel. All the visitors have to take water from kitchen in 6th floor. I don't mind drinking water from the kitchen. However, it's very inconvenient to take water all the time walking from and returning to 5th floor. Water fountain.... Go to City Library to take water. 

Anyway, I'd like to die if this hostel becomes the only and last one for visitors in the world.

Disaster

Stayed here for around three weeks whilst waiting on a new apartment. Location was good for us because it’s only a short walk from everywhere in the city and it’s close enough to the botanical gardens/sports precinct. 

Staff were very helpful and facilities were big and clean. Our floor was below reception/common areas so WiFi was good too. Security was very good, room was clean and a decent size. There was also a good rooftop area which was big with some good views.

Good place as a base in Melbourne.

HIghly recommend this dorm for their budget room. Stayed at 2 persons dorm with shared bath which is not an issue. Spacious canteen to use and cook if needed. Very convenient located, food and free tram just a min away. This is the place to stay on a budget travel, highly recommended. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay here again if i ever visit Melbourne again. Truly a steal !
