We stayed for 4 nights at the tail end of a two week tour of Tasmania - we're a family of 5.  The house was spacious with 4 double bedrooms (2 with queen beds, 2 with twin beds), a cavernous lounge with large corner sofa, a separate dining room with small sun room attached, a good sized kitchen and 2 bathrooms.  Washing machine and tumble dryer was included which, when travelling with kids, can be a god send.  There is a small decked area with BBQ and a garden as well as off road parking.  The house has lots of lovely original features having been built in the 1930's but has been updated for modern living.  We found it very comfortable, well equipped and nicely presented.  

The location has its positives and negatives.  Being right in the middle of Moonah it is walking distance to shops and restaurants, a 10 minute drive to the CBD/harbour.  The downside is that it is in an industrial area, on the corner of a fairly busy road junction, with what seemed to be a 24 hour car wash complex opposite.  There was a fair amount of ambient vehicle noise therefore which, at times, could be intrusive, more so in the rooms at the front of the property.  It didn't disturb our overall enjoyment of the property though and we'd stay again next time we were in Hobart.

Very spacious, well equipment, nicely presented holiday cottage - Hopkins on Charles

We stayed here for 3 nights after touring Tasmania, and after many nights in cabins Hopkins on Charles was a little luxury. A clean, tidy home with lots of character and plenty of room for everyone. Warm, very comfortable beds and everything you need. Shops & restaurants all in easy walking distance, a great base for day trips & close to the city. We stumbled upon the house by accident looking for Hobart accommodation and it was a great find and really reasonably priced. We would definitely come back. 

Ps. It was hard to find you here on trip advisor but we kept looking as we wanted to leave a review. Perhaps need to change the name to Hopkins on Charles. 

Hopkins on Charles...What a Find!

This was our second trip to Tassie. I have to say that this was the best accommodation ever. We have stayed in 14 different towns all over Tasmania. Location great especially as we were out day tripping most of the time. Excellent size for 4 couples or a family. Big rooms and central heating was great. The house has everything you need. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay there again on our next trip. The owners were easliy contactable which made arranging our booking very non stressful.

Hopkins on Charles

What a beautiful cottage and one of the best Ive ever stayed at. This place had charm and comfortability, 10 min drive to the city, Cadbury chocolate factory and many more of Hobarts many attractions. Rob,the owner of this beautiful place, went out of his way to help us. We arrived in Hobart from Brisbane in a bit of a pickle, as we couldnt get to our original destination because of the fires. We had booked to stay at Swansea cottages, where Rob also has accommodation and needed to change some dates , so we could still enjoy our stay in Tassie without cancelling anthing. Rob bent over backwards to help us offering this beautiful cottage and adding  an extra night in Swansea. My wife and three children thank you very much. Amy cottage had all the comforts of home and more. Highly recommended to anyone travelling to Hobart. We will see you again Rob.

Wow!!Amy cottage.

My family stayed at Moonah Central Apartments for a few days.  The apartment (a house really!) was very clean and had everything we needed.  (Well except for a tea towel but I am thinking that was just missed and they are usually supplied).  It was very secure with fences all around and a sliding gate on the driveway.  This was great for our kids as they could play outside without me worrying about roads etc.  

There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and supermarket just around the corner.  If you are travelling with a family and have your own car I would highly recommend this accommodation.
