This is an average old motel that charges accordingly, so don’t expect something special. Position is good but can be a bit noisy when the diesel powered trains go through across the road. I could hear my neighbours and their a/c unit. The neighbours a/c sounded like an air compressor. For the money the bed and bathroom are clean but old, the mattress was too soft for me as the pillows were too hard. I’d look for something else next time I’m staying in the area.

You get what you pay for.

I made a booking for three nights, several weeks in advance. When I arrived at the hotel at 9:45PM I found reception closed (not surprising. I didn't think this would be a problem as I've arrived after closing time on many occasions at motels all. Over Australia. I expected to find a box with a key, or an email telling me which room I'm staying in with the key in the door. I found neither. 

I called them. The gentleman that answered, rather rudely I'll add, advised me that I was too late, they'd locked up, they're full and I should have been there before 8 PM as advised on the booking site. According to him it's standard practice in the motel industry not to accommodate late arrivals. He thought it was bizarre that I would expect to be accommodated after making a booking and arriving after reception had closed. I'm astounded that the motel didn't call me before they locked up for the night.

Never in my many years of travelling have I had an experience like this - where the accommodation provider totally left me in the lurch. Luckily I was able to find extremely last-minute accommodation.

All I can say is that they must be doing a roaring trade if they don't allow you to arrive late and treat customers so poorly.

Never have I made a booking and been forced to find somewhere else

This was less than $100 for the night, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. It smells and isn’t cleaned properly. There was dust around the tissue box in the bathroom which then makes me wonder what else has not been cleaned. Thankfully we were at a family party and only used the place to sleep. That being said, the bed was uncomfortable and we left at 6:30am. I will not go back. I will pay a bit more next time and be comfortable.

Basic

The place might look a bit older.
But its perfectly cleaned and maintained, great location, breakfast good options, staff are wonderful.
is walking distance from the trainstation but the trainline doesn't wake me at all (most trainlines do wake me!).
Wifi was good, is a voucher based system, free voucher gives you 1gb per day (resets 4am) for a number of days.

Stayed twice (Dec 2018 and Jan 2019) and I hope that all my Morwell stays in future will be here.

I have stayed here before, very clean and lovely motel, but this stay has been marred buy around 20-30 backpackers staying here. They all arrived about 9.45pm and were all yelling and laughing and girls screaming in the car park until I rang the manager at 11.30pm. Now they are all upstairs in one or two rooms still carrying on. 
So my advice to anyone planning on staying here ask first if they have a group of backpackers staying, then go on to another motel. 
It’s now 1am and still they are carrying on. Not happy and a waist of money. 

Nice but.......

I've stayed here for many months now: and you would be hard pressed to find better value for money in this town. The hosts are most accommodating.and the location is very central- it no problems with noise or anything like that. Very well worth considering!

Great value

The exterior of this motel could leave you thinking it was a complete dive, but inside, my room was comfortable and clean. 

The bed was great, the pillows were great, the TV had great reception, the shower was hot and powerful, with a rose higher than my head. 

Couldn't ask for more from a budget motel. 

From the street looks like old and worn-out motel!  The rooms however are well furnished and equipped with everything clean and in good condition, with helpful and considerate staff. A great stay and if in the area again will definitely use again.
