These folks who own this accommodation were very helpful and friendly. We loved the location of Harrietville a quiet and beautiful place . close to some amazing walks . I have read in other review  that accommodation is dated . This accommodation is solid clean and warm that added to the alp charm . We purchased some fresh trout from the Harrietville trout farm and we cooked it over an open fire Bbq at the accomodation wood provided (amazing)  .. Come prepared with grocery shopping as harriotville is limited to a excellent bakery or hotel

Great escape

Stayed for 3 nights in July.  Rooms are very dated, but clean and spacious. Living room had a very old heater that didn't really heat the room.  It felt very cold when awake.  Beds had electric blankets which was great. Kitchenette had 2 mini fridges, kettle, toaster, electric frying pan, microwave and stove.  No oven.  Owners were friendly.  Would be beautiful to visit and explore in the warmer months.  There was a great play space for kids in the middle.

Good location, dated, cold

I stayed 3 nights with my two boys. We wanted somewhere cost effective and close to mount Hotham. It was comfortable enough, but could do with a spring clean. A lot of Cobwebs throughout, especially the bathroom skylight thing was full of them. The heater seemed to stop working one night, but seemed fine the next day so don’t know what was up there. We were only in the unit after a day on the mountain so it was perfect for our needs really. I would stay again if I was to do a budget snow trip, however I think it would be worth paying more to stay at Hotham resort (if that’s the purpose of your Trip) as the mountain drive ( as lovely as it is the first few times) really just chews into your day...it’s certainly not as bad as some of the negative reviews I’ve seen on here though. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. One thing that I did not like though was the towels not being supplied, well they are for $3 each..just seems odd

Comfortable and convenient for snow trips

We have stayed in two bedroom self contained apartment. It was a nice experience, though apartment is bit old but was neat, clean and well  presented. Ed at reception was very helpful as well.

Just be aware apartment we stayed do not have either oven or dishwasher. Also, Harrietville has limited shops and food options

Overall a good accomodation for transit or if you don’t get anything reasonable at Mount Hotham.

Nice peaceful self contained apartment 

gas stove shot flames 30cm from rings narrowly missing my face. Owner was rude and unhelpful, and disinterested. accommodation was very dated looking like it had not been decorated since the 70s, and the pool was dirty and the sauna was used as a storeroom. Got a text message at 9.30 after we had already left that if we had not vacated the rooms by 10am we would be charged $25 dollars, and any item not washed and put away would be charged for. For a premium price of $200 a night this was not value at all and would not return even if it was free.

unsafe, very dated and rude staff

We had been planning to  trip up to Hotham for months, but I was (very!!) late booking accommodation, which made staying on the mountain impossible.  In fact, everything everywhere was booked out, I called Casbak and spoke to the lovely Neene who helped me out and was able to squeeze us in for a night. 
She was so accomodating, and organised a late check in for us, as our plan was to go up the mountain and check in the evening. Ed waited for us (we had a little slip on some black ice!! Lucky no damage to car even though we hit into the mountain), check in was to be at 8pm latest, I think we got there around 8.30pm. 

Both Ed and Neene were lovely , and friendly, very accomodating. 

Room was spacious, shower - strong pressure and hot :), bed was comfy, heaters were on so room was warm for us when we arrived. 
Electric blankets and very comfy pillows were perfect after our massive day !! 

Check out was easy, and up we went, back up the mountain for our second day :) 

Staying at Casbak worked out perfectly !! Highly Recommended, and will be staying here again next time we head to Hotham !!
