Beware if you are offered Room 5 family room!! There was a constant droning sound from the sealing 24hrs a day. It gets very loud at night from about 8pm and well onto the night. We were told it was from the ducts and related to the kitchens above the room.  It was difficult to sleep with the noise and affected our days on the slopes. It was like a form of torture. We also arrived to find toothpaste in the sink from the previous guest which raised concerns around cleanliness. The beds were very hard and both my husband and U struggled with backache. We were both glad to be leaving after 3 nights. I reported the issue on day 1 and this was not followed up. I must note on our last day the young lady in reception came and listened to the noise and raised our concerns. On day 2 I raised it again and they advised there was nothing that could be done. I emailed the management requesting a partial refund and this was denied. The response is disappointing, but not surprising, given the importance of making money and no care about the issues I and others have raised.

Very disappointing

The apartment was quite nice, nice view and comfortable living area/kitchen. Unfortunately the cleaning job prior to our arrival wasn’t great. There was a dirty pair of underwear down the side of the couch and the 6 of us had to fight over the one coffee sachet and 2 tea bags that must not have been stocked up for our stay... the first night we were woken up by the fire alarm in the building going off. this alarm continued to ring from about 11pm to 7am the next morning!!!! We called the after hours number to notify someone and an automated answer machine said “sorry we are in another call”. We called this number countless times through the night and this answering message was the response every time. There were no staff at reception during the day and no way to speak to anyone on the phone. For the price this was appalling. We will definitely not be coming back to stay at ABOM. We left exhausted from lack of sleep over the weekend.

Fire alarm kept us awake all night

Fantastic location, literlally ski in and ski out.   the rooms themselves feel old, but are warm quiet and comfortable, but for the price, are to be expected.  the layout of the place is strange, maze like, but your here to ski, not spend it in the accomdation.. the dining areas are huge, and i assume designed to cater to walk in diners as well as guests, good quality was good,  tasy, and good serving size.  spot on the the value.  the Steel stairs leading to the reception area are a litlte tricky, especially when cold and temps are below zero, they do make carrying heavy items difficult.   But dont forget, for what you pay, you cant get better access to the slopes, and you still get a good night sleep.

Great Location,  small old rooms. great value

It was a very tired looking hotel, whilst it was warm due to the heating being cranked up it was not a place I'd stay again. There was a bottle sitting on the balcony with cigarette butts in it, the decor was old, furnishings are very worn and the room was very small and pokey. For $250 per night it was on par with a budget chain motel. The restaurant/bistro was a little better.

Whilst it's convenient to the lifts/skii schools, its pretty average for the dollar

After a long journey, we arrived, I thought it strange that we had to carry four large suitcases down a flight of metal stairs only to find the reception locked! Called a number for someone to attend check in, WOW. Our room was not great, beds extremely hard, don't expect sheets! Nothing seemed to work, it was cold and the plumbing made loud noises throughout the night keeping us awake.  Half the hotel was closed up for the season very little staff, No one to ask for spare toilet rolls towels etc, this wasn't friendly hotel, they seemed to not care.  Also no wifi....I'm sure the backpackers would be better. Don't visit the Abom!!!!

OMG please go somewhere else, Abominable indeed!!

My husband and I had lunch here last week and I stayed on whilst he went back up the slopes to ski. I was enjoying my view of the slopes when i family decided to move into my space. I asked them politely to move but they became aggressive.  The manager was called and Paris tried to reason with them but they continued to be obnoxious.  In the end Paris had no other alternative but to ask them to leave. She handled the situation with maturity and respect for the other patrons.  Thank you Paris.

Paris was awesome

Staff smoking at the front door as you enter reception. Reception staff were good. Rooms old and tired. Stains everywhere, damaged ceilings. Other than a great location this hotel has no redeeming features.

I heard its going to be a backpackers soon, will still need some improvements if they want to attract backpackers.

Needs a bomb!

ABOM has a very good location but has very bad rooms in our room we had smokers before us then we had a rotten banana outside our window and it was squishy and disgusting. I wouldn’t recommend it. But it is a very good location.
