Very rundown, scruffy, untidy caravan park.  Cabin we had was dirty and unclean.  Bedding smelt, curtains were filthy, could not lock windows. Bathroom was filthy. The oven was dirty and had so much grease build up we would not use it to put food in as it stank of rotten grease

Aweful place

I had just drove 12 hours straight from brisbane, and when I got to the Motel, The toilet floor was creaking and starting to break, the living room had fake grass for carpet, one of the chairs was broken and had a family of strange worms living in it, when you went to the bedroom the house tipped over, the kitchen was dirty and we weren't allowed in it! As for the town, every single thing was CLOSED! Would not recommend staying here.

Worst Motel/Town I've ever stayed at!

Stayed one night in a onsuite cabin and very pleased. The only thing  that was not perfect was the lack of reading lights on the bed. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning quiet and efficient. We ran the air conditioning all night as it was cold outside but lovely and warm inside. Good sized fridge , Dual plug in hotplates. Microwave,jug and toaster. Everything clean and spotless . Grounds well maintained and tidy. We and our dog stayed there so we could attend the Nanango muster and were very happy.

This park is old and outdated - nobody seems to care - cats running wild around the place, old demountable 'cabins' and broken down old vans in which people are apparently living, dotted at random through the park - a generally dilapidated derelict ghetto.  There are no amenities blocks as such, just more demountables in a couple of places which appear to be exactly the same as the ensuite sites - and those are in terrible condition, very cramped and rather grubby.  The laundry is in a separate area again and yes, another demountable type of building.  All in all, this park needs a major upgrade.  A shame because Nanango deserves better than this.

Never Again

We only had an overnight stopover but would love to stay again for a day or two to check out the region.  The cabin we had was clean and tidy and pet friendly.  The queen bed was comfortable.  The park was quiet which made for a refreshing sleep.  There was lots of grass area to walk our dog on leash.  We were able to book and prepay online which was a big plus.

Value Plus



Last time we stayed we ended up with sore backs from the bed. The cabins need up dating. Same price to stay in a motel where coffee, milk is supplied. The cabin we had on a previous stay had old food under the microwave turn table.and metal was flaking off the element in the kettle.

Homestead Caravan Park is a very secure park with security gate.  Very welcoming staff who assisted with the parking of our van.  The site was big enough for our needs and because of the time of the year not crowded.  I don't know if was by design or accident but sites were allocated so that there was space between vans.  Camp kitchen was basic but clean and I had not hesitation using the facility.  Toilets and showers were clean and well maintained.  The only down side of this (and the only other caravan park in town) is that it is quite some distance to the CBD.

Would stay again

After deciding not to stay at the Big 4 caravan park in Kingaroy due to there being no shade or grass on the sites we continued on to Nanango and found the Homestead. We are so glad that we did. We were with a group and were allocated two grassy sites side by side with a nice big shady area under some trees. The public ensuites were behind us and even though they were for everyone to use, due to it being quiet it was like our own personal ensuite. The saltwater pool had a large shade sail over it and heaps of pool toys for the kids to use. There was a nice new area with books, board games, TV, pool table and sitting area near the pool. The camp kitchen was well equipped with kettle, toaster, cooking utensils, microwave etc. The owner regularly went through the park chatting and mingling with his guests. The park was quiet and full of lovely friendly people. The best thing of all was our large powered site was only $20 per night, cheaper and better than other parks we have stayed in in the region. I would definitely recommend and I would return.
