Taken me a while to write this review.  I stayed here while visiting a friend.  The room itself was very nice and clean with a good clean shower with great water pressure.  The bed was comfortable.  There was good parking outside the room and while I did not use it, the pool looked clean.  Check in was easy and friendly.  One of the reasons why I stayed here was because  there was a resturant advertised where I thought i could meet my friend for dinner.  Upon check-in I was told the the restaurant had closed closed a couple of years ago and there was nowhere to dine within walking distance and my friend and I ended up having UberEats in my room.  That was a little disappointing.  I would stay here again but only as an overnighter.

Nice rooms but new signage definitely needed

Room was comfortable...everything we needed. I did request a room away from the motorway....wasn't accommodated. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke during our stay.
Management were more than accommodating. Fellow occupants weren't considerate of other travellers. Thankfully, settled at dinner time.
No restaurant as per their signage.

Nice. But new advertising required

Good value for money.  Big room and very quiet. Had also a kitchen sink what is helpful. There is also a balcony at least in this room we stayed in. For a non smoker it is perhaps not convenient as people are allowed to smoke on balconies.

overnight stay

I had read the reviews before we came down and I was concerned, but I needed be.We stayed here for two weeks over the Comm Games and I could not fault them.The new management where both very friendly and they couldn't do enough to help us. The cleaning staff were also very aware of the long hours that we were working and moved around doing their cleaning being very mindful of this.They had the restaurant open for us for all three meals each day, and there was heaps to chose from.
The rooms are basic but very clean.I found the bed to be comfortable and I had a good sleep each night (plenty of pillows to chose from). Air-con work well, so did the TV. OMG the shower was awesome. I haven't felt that kind of water pressure since I was a kid and we didn't have to worry about how much water we used.(Good luck keeping it on full) :) 
Over all I was very happy with the stay and found all staff and management friendly and happy to please.Nothing was to hard for them.
Yes some room have more items then others but I'm sure the new management team will work their way through each room and fix this.
Give them a go you will be happy that you did.

New Management and they are Awesome.

Made a reservation with the owner by phone in November for a December booking for my self and two sons as we have an unwell family member in Nerang that the whole family were up visiting.
. Booked and confirmed with my credit card and a deposit to be taken out in December for one room with ***2 single beds and **1 queen bed. This was stressed as clearly this was the amount of beds needed.
Was advised and assured that all is ok.
Then called after the 15th of December to make sure the full amount was taken from my credit card with no issues and booking was confirmed for ***3 people****.
AGAIN this was confirmed. Rang one more time 2x days prior to my arrival, same story!
Arrived at motel, greeted by a rude woman, told my room has **2 beds only. 
Advised her of the above, my answer was she could only upgrade me if I pay extra, even though I have an email confirming the reservation and price for 3 PEOPLE.
I couldn't afford to pay extra for an upgrade so I had to send my son to stay in my daughters room over at a different motel which I only pray now I stayed at.
To add insult to injury, the toilet was blocked, advised the woman at the desk, was told not to use too much toilet paper.
Room smelt, was small and safe to say I will never return.
My daughter manages a motel in Tamworth and she is making further enquires into the situation regarding my costs. 
Would not recommend to anyone.
Would highly recommend the HINTERLAND MOTEL, friendly staff!!! Great rates and the toilet flushes!!
To the woman who runs the place and oh so rude, retire love!!! time for you to move on.
oh, and try smiling :)

Big downfall to our Christmas holiday

Noticed an unauthorized deduction for $150 on my credit card & after a phone call I was rudely informed it was for smoking.
Funny thing is I am a non smoker, never smoked & my room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke firstly upon my arrival.
Avoid this place at all costs, they will skim your credit card, totally rude management & I will be placing charges against them for credit card fraud if they fail to refund my money.
