The Salisbury Lodge is located in the Barrington National Park area. It adjoins the park and is easy access to interesting forest walks. The Lodge has self contained cabins that are comfortable and quiet. It is about 40 mins to the nearest shop so take a good selection of provisions. Management were very helpful.

Great location for peaceful break - but take enough supplies

Walking for all levels, great swimming holes
Great drives if a little bumpy. Did it all in a 2 wheel drive, some forest drives may have been difficult if there was a lot of rain
Half hour to Upper Allyn with more swimming 
Dark & quiet at night, friendly, helpful owners
Lovely artwork and views. Would probably be good in winter too

Plenty to do with place and time to rest

Location is unbeatable, quiet and peaceful.
Hosts were knowledgeable, kind and friendly.
Accommodation was almost perfect, rustic and very clean.
You need to bring all your own food, there is nothing on site.
Bring your swimmers, plenty of great swimming spots.

Peaceful escape

A delightful place to stay. We had a self catering room called the Bush Nook. It had everything we needed, a well equipped kitchen, fire place, Webber and a spa bath.
Has a TV with HDMI outlets so you can watch your own movies, also had a DVD player. No WiFi or shops and restaurants close by, owners let us know this well in advance.

Adjoins Barrington Tops National Park. Phillipa was very helpful in providing maps and walking suggestions. We did a 5hour hike and it was stunning and some smaller walks.

Sep and Phillpa built the whole place from cleared farming land. It is now a beautiful natural place.They are both great characters. They have lots of stories about building the property.

The accommodation is spread around the property so that it is all very private.

Highly recommend getting away from it all here for a few days

Back to Nature

we arrived today, thought we had booked today and tomorrow but got dates wrong and was for sat sun night. Totally our fault. 
A 3 hr car trip, and kids were just being kids when he come out asking what we wanted and to control our kids. 
Very rude man, lady was helpful although lied to booking.com after I received a email stating we turned up in the morn, left for other accommodation and did not contact them again.
Would not recommend staying here if u have kids, absolutely rude from somewhere that charges $500+ a night we went elsewhere as im sure if we come back the next night we would have been told off all weekend about the kids. When they were just talking and playing with the owners dog! Will not return.

Stayed 2 nights welcomed from the start breakfast delivered to room and dinner in restaurant excellent food
Had outdoor pot belly fire going twice with a few wines and bikkies

Some good walks to be had up to 5 hrs we only did an hour along the Williams River huge trees beautiful rock pools and no mobile reception 

Off grid relaxation 

Advertises a good restaurant 🤨 my daughters boyfriend had planned to propose.. only to get there and be told no restaurant 
If you don’t have a restaurant don’t advertise you do ruined the proposal and weekend 
Not even a vending machine 2 hour round trip back to dungog to get food 
Not told this when booking 
Very disappointed 😔

Where’s the restaurant????

Pip and Joe were perfect hosts and the location is off the grid. Was nice to unplug from the world with no WiFi or phone reception. No excuses but to relax and unwind in this tranquil location. 
With a creek and watering hole and national parks just steps away it was incredible to soak in the sun and wildlife. 
The room we were in was modest but cool and bbq facilities for your own cook up. 
Nothing is close by so be prepared and stock up at the town of Dungog. Remember small country towns not everything will be open on Sundays. 

A peaceful and beautiful location

What an awesome place for a group stay. Organised a weekend away for 16 and you couldn't put us in a better spot. But be warned with little cell phone coverage phones got put away and we all had to actually socialize with each other, also it's a long round trip to the closest local shop so make sure you are prepared with all you will need or pre book for the restaurant. That said what a great place for either groups or just couples to get away from the rat race for a couple of days. Williams Lodge was awesome for the group to gather in for most meals (the restaurant was great for dinner  the other night) the open fire was to die for and after much laughter and a few sherbets many of the couples drifted off to their own rooms for some romantic alone time. Plenty to do especially investigating the river and bush walks, will definitely be back in summer to use that river! A big thanks to our lovely hosts Pip and Joe, we can't wait to be back either in the group again or singly. I think we all shed a tear leaving the property to find the real world was still there!! Oh the tranquility.

Awesome Group Stay

From the moment we drove in I knew we were in for a treat. The resort has a peaceful ambience that allows greater enjoyment of the birds, the walks and the wonderful food.
The open fire - that the owner even offered to help with - was lovely. Not to the mention the spa bath and the paintings. A great escape.
