Location is great, quiet,  clean, comfy , great breakfast. 
I spent two nights in "The Room".
The only negative was it had no windows and no natural lighting. If you suffer from claustrophobia I do not recommend this room. There's another room that does have natural lighting.

My husband, spoodle and myself enjoyed our 3 night stay. Serena is extremely friendly and accommodating. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. Location is fabulous, so close to many places to eat and beautiful walking track at Warners Bay. I hope we have the opportunity to stay again soon.

Great stay

We had had quite the adventure having been towed from Aberdeen to Newcastle for a new tyre and sought last minute accommodation for ourselves and our little buddy, Monty the maltese x west highland terrier.

We were really impressed with the set up and met another couple of travellers who were heading north to Qld.  They had 2 little dogs with them and the trio got on so well!

The room we stayed in was well-equipped and comfortable it was a real "home away from home".  

Our hosts provided a wonderful breakfast served by the pool which was lovely.  

This was really a lovely place to overnight and helped us forget the day's dilemas that's for sure!

Car trouble led us to seeking last minute pet friendly accommodation!

If you have a choice, stay at the Shamballa room, it is a beautifully decorated, serene and extremely comfortable. The bed is just heavenly. 

Don't let the boring brick veneer exterior fool you, inside is like stepping into a gorgeous Balinese retreat.

A glorious retreat

We booked this accommodation because it was advertised as pet friendly. We stayed in ‘The Room’.  
The entry to our room was way in the back of the house with a pool and pavers. Under instruction the dog had to be taken to the front of the house with no lighting at night. to do his business. Watch your step! 
Owners dogs were noisy.

No soap in the bathroom. Room was noisy.

Continental Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable and wifi worked great.


Pet Friendly??

What a great place to stay.  Truly dog friendly, our dog loved that he could be with us 24/7 and was included in our holiday.  The bed was comfy, room was fabulous, roomy, well appointed and had a good feel about it.  Bathroom was good, nice hot shower.  Pool area looks lovely, we were here in winter so didn’t get to use it.  Access to Warner’s Bay foreshore and Lake Macquarie is easy and enjoyable. 
Complimentary breakfast is YUM! Perfect selection of cereal, fruit, yoghurt and baked delight.
A really lovely place to stay, will certainly be recommending Tantarra to all who will listen.

WOW!

When I booked for a great price NYE two nights I was thinking wow too good to be true, but wow, as people say it’s not velvet and mints on pillows but I personally hate that, staying somewhere un homely and I’d spend the time worrying I’d spill a drink or puppy would drop hair or walk sand on a rug, 
The owner was warm and lovely but the best thing was, the Studio out front had no interaction with the other rooms. We came and went with ease, ordered a great Thai meal in after a day swimming with the fur baby. I recommend Croudance Bay over Speers if you’re googling dog swims. Gentle lake area good for our senior pup. Was no crowds and just nice! 
Very relaxed everything you need. Accom is on a Killer hill to walk down then up but burnt some Xmas calories, benefit of the hill is a beautiful view. 
We got a local pet sitter booked prior to travelling up there to give us some human time up there for a dinner out, which I’d recommend. Thank you for having us 🐶 hope to be back.

TRULY dog friendly everything you need

This was what we needed. A friendly host, large room - with comfortable bed (plenty of blankets), TV with FOXTEL, strong WiFi, serviceable bathroom (lots of hot water for showers or bath) and our own little sunroom come kitchenette. The ambiance was relaxing and I only regret that the (uncharacteristically) lousy weather kept us from trying out the pool. The whole feel is laid back Bali, and dollar for dollar this is the best value accommodation we have experienced on mainland Australia. Dog friendly. Air conditioning available. And (for the adventurous) accessible to the town via a 1.5km hill. Not 5 star luxury but exactly what it aims to be. Highly recommend!

Great value for money with splurges in what we wanted!

Stayed here in The Studio for 2 nights with our dog and would definitely return.  Booking made online and check-in very simple.  Checking-out just as easy.   We didn't have a lot of interaction with the owners - but the contact we did have was positive.  Our hostess was lovely!  

Although The Studio is at the front of the building, there was no traffic noise - we heard one motorbike and one car over two nights (both with loud exhausts).  The Studio has separate living and bedroom areas, an ensuite off the bedroom area and a small private area through sliding doors from the bedroom (the total area is about the size of a good-sized hotel/motel room).    Everything was clean and worked, the water pressure in the shower was good and the bed very comfortable.  The floors are fully tiled - a big plus in maintaining a healthy environment when people travel with pets - with the living area including a rug over the tiles.   It was fully furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay and even included a small selection of books to read.   The television is wall-mounted in the bedroom area.  There is currently only one bedside table - very slightly awkward for two of us having a cuppa while watching television.   

Our room rate included breakfasts - when we arrived there was a menu and note saying that breakfasts would be served to the rooms as Tantarra is about to refurbish its kitchen/dining area.   Our breakfasts came to our rooms at the promised times and were really, really good (over the 2 days we selected 4 different hot dishes - perfect helping sizes and great cooking).

For dinners - there are lots of restaurants in the nearby Warners Bay village.  We couldn't get a booking at our first choice restaurant, so ordered take-away to be delivered and had a lovely meal in.  

Overall, we were very happy with our stay and are looking forward to being able to return.  

Restful and recommended!

Wow, wow, wow. Could not fault this place. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room we had, called ' Shambala ', was luxurious and very comfortable. It was as if the bed was made for me. It was firm but soft at the same time. Complimentary breakfast was absolutely scrumptious. Will definitely be back and will tell everybody and anybody that is heading north of sydney about this place.
