If i could give zero for this property then i would! I never leave reviews but please don’t stay here! It’s not clean, room was not made up and the people staying next to us screamed all night. We left at 2am as we just didn’t feel safe to stay! DO NOT STAY HERE

Staff are amazingly friendly, the room However was filthy. The bedroom floor was sticky/dirty, walls covered in dust and filth. The bathroom was atrocious. Mould to grout in shower. The whole floor was covered in dirt and dust. When the shower was turned on it lifted all the debris off the floor and showed how much gunk is on the floor. Extractor fan did not work. Massive dirty handprint in door to bathroom. You can not use hairdryer/straightener in the room as it sets off fire alarm. 
Room smelt musty/dirty. Window opened but was filthy.
Incredibly noisy.
Beds were so uncomfortable, pillows horrendous. 

Would not recommend based on uncleanliness 

This is definitely about managing your expectations. It's a cheap hotel and you're going to get the bare minimum, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean, so I got what I expected. Points off for the AC not working, and some people might be a bit put off by the room design (the sink isn't in the same place as the toilet and shower). Whilst I get that you can't just rearrange a room to make things fit better, I do wish there was soap set up at the sink, not just at the shower, to make washing hands a bit easier. Other than that, it was reasonably quiet despite the hotel being full, which was welcome (though if you're on the side facing the road, you will get a bit of traffic noise). Useful if you're looking for somewhere to stay on a budget.

Good Budget Experience

The Ibis is an ideal cheap place on the western side of Newcastle. We only needed a place to rest our heads ate at night. The rooms are smallish and the shower tiny, but that is what Ibis Budget is all about. It is not a hotel to stay in where you are going to spend hours during the day in your room. It was reasonably clean, has a large car park, reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Ideal place for a quick busy visit to Newie. 

I have never stayed in a motel this bad before and I have been in budget hotels & hostels before. Room: sticky floors & mouldy walls. Shower / toilet: Port-a-loo style cubicle and sink in main room near bed.   Bed: hard,  thin pillows & blanket so we were cold all night.  no lift.     EVERYTHING FILTHY.

Don’t do it!

DISGUSTING - my mother prepaid IN FULL but on checkin, the concierge asked for a “physical” credit card to put on record. Unfortunately mum had left hers at home. She only had it on her phone. NOWHERE on booking did it tell her to bring a card for checkin.

THEY KICKED MY VERY SICK MUM IN HER SEVENTIES OUT ON THE STREET. No attempt to help her no nothing. The concierge was horrible. I’m FURIOUS.

HIDEOUS EXPERIENCE

After a long drive from Canberra, check-in was well handled and we were allocated a ground floor room. Rooms in Ibis Budget hotels are very basic... Small TV, was basin in main room and shower and toilet in a very basic 'capsule' that is raised up so older people need to be careful getting in and out.
Hotel is reasonably close to local shops, pubs and restaurants.
We were told breakfast was available from 7am, but we waited until 7.15 and no-one appeared. So we left and were on our way again.

Basic but clean and tidy

It had all the basic things we needed, and it was close to Wallsend Village where you can get some food and other basic necesseties.

The room though could use some more cleaning as I saw stains on the airconditioner grills, and dust on the bathroom vent.

Regarding the breakfast, when I checked in, the frontdesk staff said there was breakfast at 7am for $10. However, there was neither anyone at the frontdesk nor anyone at the pantry area when we got there at 7am the next day.  The staff might have just forgotten there was no breakfast that day, I wasn't able to ask since we checked out before the frontdesk opened.

Good, but needs more cleaning. Not clear if there's breakfast or not.

I stayed a few nights in the ibis budget for work so only used the rooms to sleep in, I can’t tell you how disgusting the rooms are. All of us experienced mold everywhere, this is including the Aircon, I have now contracted a chest infection because of breathing in the toxins in the room. I think health inspectors should be involved with this one.

clean comfortable room,small toilet and shower but ,what would you expect ? located in a good spot ,not to far from anything,staff were friendly and efficient would stay there again. beautiful city to visit.
