We rented all 4 units for a week, so each of my adult children could be by themselves with their families and we could share games and meals in the biggest unit as well as activities in the area. The clean, spacious  and nicely furnished/ decorated units are close together (within baby monitors' reach), located in a quiet and peaceful area, on a gorgeous wooded hill, above a little bay with a jetty for fishing, beach and BBQ area, offering lovely views, beautiful birdlife (feeders!), several kayaks & life vests, wonderful comfort without being overly fancy, so one could relax with children around. Kim was a very charming, helpful and readily available host who assisted in organising and setting up a celebratory dinner catered for onsite by an exquisite local chef, Michelle Boyle. We all enjoyed the week immensely and I highly recommend Jetty Road Retreat! 

Exquisite Family Holiday

We stayed for two nights in October. We’d been touring Australia for the past couple of weeks and were quite exhausted! Jetty Road Retreat offered us exactly the peace and quiet we needed! Although the weather wasn’t great - stormy with some rain - it didn’t spoil our enjoyment. The cabins are sweetly retro with somelovely personal touches such as the bird book. The local visiting birds were a huge part of our enjoyment. They are very tame and it was great to see their pecking order! 
Some nice local walks and also in nearby Metung and Lakes entrance. 
We ate at the  Metung hotel (great steak) and lunched at the fabulous fish and chips at the Sea Shanty in lakes Entrance. We also enjoyed a stroll along the boardwalk for breakfast at Aroma in Metung and another day at Bloody Good Coffee (the cafe name!) in Lakes entrance.  
The resort has free kayaks which sadly we didn’t get to use due to the weather but we’d love to return in warmer weather!

Tranquil hideaway

On our arrival we were greeted by Kim who guided us through how to use all the facilities.

Enjoyed the walks to both piers (jetties) , though the second one was approx 4 Kms away.
Nanny & Cassie enjoyed feeding the Parrots, Cockies  & Corellas. Then photographing them from the comfort of the picture window louge room.

Top Place to Stay .... Jetty Road Retreat ...Nungurner

This was our second extended stay at Jetty Road Retreat, and it was excellent.  With so many choices nowadays you only return to the good ones!
An extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean cabin with everything we needed - and in a beautiful, peaceful spot.  We saw the dolphins, fed the birds, watched the occasional boat come and go on the lake, wandered down the hill and out onto the jetty now and then - and just relaxed.
And 15 to 20 minutes up the road, in either direction, are Metung and Lakes Entrance with lots to do, including some great walks suitable for all abilities.

Really very good!

We went with my family of 5, for Australia Day long weekend and it was a very pleasant experience. The cabin is uniquely located by the water, with kayaks available to use for free. It is also conveniently located near lake Entrance and Metung. There are lots of things to do, from enjoying good food, going to the beach, fishing, cruising, etc. They even provided us with bird's seed to feed the birds so every afternoon we would have a variety of different birds come to the deck. It was really nice. The host was always available and ready to provide help whenever we needed it.

A real retreat

The perfect location to get away from everything for some downtime. The views were stunning from my cabin and with the big windows, I felt like I was out in nature even inside the cabin. I loved the small touches like birdseed to welcome the beautiful birdlife to the garden and the information about the walking tracks close by. The cabin was clean, tidy and very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Relax an rejuvenate

What an amazing place-a real unexpected gem off the highway from Lakes Entrance - the town was great, but all the accommodation was on the highway, so we went looking for a private stay with views out of the township. Well - we found such a place - beautiful views, great hosts who even brought us 6 fresh laid farm eggs! 

The fire pit was incredible and the room immaculately clean - thanks Wendy! Steve and Kim were amazing hosts. Bird life was so diverse, and we were provided with healthy seeds to feed them daily. 

Whilst still close to town, Jetty Road Retreat was a place of refuge with its own slice of paradise overlooking the lakes. Amazing!!!

We cannot recommend Jetty Road Retreat highly enough and will certainly be returning on our next loop across the wonderful eastern Gippsland.

Slice of heaven

Excellent in all respects. We appreciated the attention to detail such as a hand-written note of welcome, the use of local products when possible and the cleanliness of the cabin. The setting is marvellous with water views, bush walks and much bird life. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

We just returned from a wonderful weekend away at Jetty Road Retreat and I wanted to write a review as it was so special.  Great accommodation, spacious, comfortable, equipped with everything you need  plus great hosts! We had the most wonderful view and you are in the most picturesque peaceful environment, on the edge of the lakes surrounded by bushland with frequent native bird visitors. You are a short drive from Metung and a bit further to Lakes Entrance and lots of other great towns/sites/activities in the area.  I highly recommend.

A wonderful weekend getaway

What a lovely weekend we shared with a group of friends  -  a big thankyou to Kim for being such a wonderful host with everything on tap  as requested.  Our cabin was more than adequate, clean and comfortable with a super view of the lake and birdlife.  Can totally recommend with plenty to do  - kayaking, walks, fishing or just to relax in a idyllic setting.  A absolute gem of a place.
