comfortable house, generous bedding in a pretty heritage village. not  a lot to do in town but the house is well appointed and quiet. beds are comfortable and warm. well equipped kitchen. hard to fault!

We were not sure what to expect and when we found it we saw that the street frontage was a Laundromat and the accommodation is at the rear down the driveway.  What we discovered was this delightful unit, two bedrooms, 2-queen size beds and one single. Large bathroom with washing machine and dryer. Separate lounge and dining area, Well equipped kitchen with loads of little extras, like heaps of condiments etc. The unit is very comfortable, air-conditioned and a small outdoor setting in a tiny courtyard at the rear. Located in the main street and a short walk to shops, hotel etc. Ideal spot to stay we loved it.

Fantastic Accommodation

Stayed in Oatlands Retreat while touring area with friends. The Retreat is really central and easy to find.The accommodation was warm and welcoming with thoughtful touches such as baskets of snacks and home made local produce. Good kitchen and bathroom facilities and a very comfy bed. The Reteat was very clean and well maintained.   I really enjoyed the historic working mill and buildings; all close access from the Retreat. If you are into birds stroll along the foreshore of Lake Dulverton for a chance to see the rare Blue Billed duck. For the fly fisherman consider an easy 25 minute drive to Craigbourne Dam in Colebrook to watch and catch  nice brown trout  tailing at the bottom end of the reservoir. Would definitely come back next time we're in the area.

Cosy Unit with Hassle Free WIFI and Lots of Extra Little Touches

Stayed just for 1 night. Tucked away next to the laundromat. Everything delightful.  Lots of friendly touches. Comfortable beds. Big bathroom. Generous breakfast. Friendly little town. Beautiful lake, walks and heritage mill. Not many options for dinner though. Supermarket (decently stocked) may be the better alternative. 

Lovely quiet and cosy

Website photos are well out of date.  The property is neglected and obviously not checked for repairs etc. in between rentals.  Threadbare sofa covered by doonah; kitchen chairs need reinforcement; curtains need cutting to floor length and many curtain rings are missing so clothespegs are needed to cut out the light.  Kitchen tap very stiff and sprays strong torrents of water when turned on; Cold water tap for washing machine leaks resulting in water all over the bathroom floor; drain/spin cycle not effective; shower needs replacing; no teatowels, only a mismatch of useless items; toilet roll holder loosely fitted resulting in toilet roll falling off; extremely neglected 'garden,' windows cannot be opened; small slugs in bathroom.  Definitely not worth the money.  To bring it up to standard the clutter needs to be disposed of; bathroom clutter needs to be disposed of so that the floor can be cleaned; tv/dvd/modem connections need to be checked; curtains need repair; light bulb needs replacing in one bedroom; sofa needs replacement; washing machine disposed of; shower needs replacement; small slugs in bathroom need to be eradicated; kitchen tap needs a plumber; 'garden' needs lots of work; toilet roll holder needs to be tightened; curtains/runner under television need washing.

The worst cottage rental in which we've stayed.

This is a tin shed tacked on the back of a laundromat. The photos online are not correct. The place smelt of puke and disinfectant, the glowing reviews talked of non existent breakfast, appliances, terraces and facilities. Described as a two bedroom house this is a lean to granny flat. The furniture look like granny’s discards. For God’s sake stay away. Booking.com give it good reviews - BUT booking.com sponsor it online e via Instagram! So much for an objective review.
