We stayed at The Falls cottages for two nights while up in Montville for a wedding last weekend. This was also an anniversary present for my husband. These stunningly secluded cottages were beautifully clean with everything you could possibly need - abundant breakfast supplies (all local produce), chocolates, port, good coffee, ample wood for the gorgeous log fire and a double spa bath. We spent two very romantic evenings here away from the craziness of normal life and three children!! There was so much wildlife - cows, birds, a possum who visited our verandah and many stories told to us by Alan about 'Jesus' the bull and many other animals resident to The Falls and the surrounding area. Aryna and Alan were absolutely perfect hosts going over and above what was required on so many occasions. Alan drove us to and from dinner on our first night, to the wedding we attended on the Saturday and back into town later that evening and provided us with a lovely bottle of wine and coffee and tea before check out. Who could ask for more! They couldn't have been more obliging if they tried. Alan was full of local knowledge which made our stay even more interesting and Aryna was just lovely. 
It's all of these little extras that make you certain you'll return to a place, which we will definitely do....
Thank you very much Aryna and Alan, we can't wait for the next kid free weekend to come and visit :)

Absolutely amazing Stay!!

Place needs renovation and makeover, rooms clean but carpet old smells a bit musty watermarks on hallway carpet, rooms warm, old wall mounted evapoartive cooler makes alot of noise but does little that is useful, must be made by Trump corporation, but you get continental breakfast, has a nice and clean pool, you can pay to access the tennis courts that are co-located. OK for a budget place, has free parking. 20 minutes to Manly which is not too bad, at times of higher demand you might be better paying a bit more especially if you get parking at a reasonable rate. Pretty quiet.

Nice setting, heaps of potential but run down. Toilet in room has sign, "tap button a few times as cistern sticks and wastes water". Laminated sign would have cost more than new cistern seal.
Breakfast was basic and unhealthy - butter container and condiments jars, plus sugar bowl were used by all having breakfast (how to pass on golden staph). 
How many return customers would be doubtful.

OK for a night, but won't be back until a total makeover.

Great for the money....you want 20% better all round, it'll cost you double! Quiet location in a park with little more than birds and the thwack of a tennis ball to disturb the peace, with a Continental breakfast thrown in, this was a great stay. OK, an Aussie Continental breakfast wouldn't rock a Dane'S boat, but you get bread and jam, and you have to make your own toast, but at least it's there. The room's small but comgortable and the shower works, so no complaints from me. The 3 Star rating is tops for this price range...if you want peace, rest and a dollar in your wallet in this bustling, overpriced, ripoff city, stay here.

Great Low-cost Gig in Priceytown

The countryside setting of this city retreat is lovely but overall the property could be so much better.  The rooms were clean and comfortable but a long way from being modern - I guess that can be forgiven.  However, the breakfast is a little on the woeful side perhaps more in the lack of presentation that what was actually on offer.  There was a choice of four cereals, a bowl of fresh fruit and you could toast your own bread.  We did look for the Continental offerings such as a Danish or croissant but they were non-existent.   The reception area has been made into a poorly put together coffee area and office.  It was quite warm whilst we were there and a dip in the pool would have been nice but it was not very clean nor did it have anything that enticed us to use it such as pool-side chairs, umbrellas etc. Overall the entire property simply needs some love, care, and attention.  Yes it was cheap to stay and that suited us but it is sad to see a potentially great little retreat just left languishing.  On the plus side however, it did offer free wi-fi and there was a bar fridge and in the room and there is plenty of free parking.
