Wouldn’t stay here again. Rang & spoke to a person on the phone to book a cabin for a one night stay on our trip up to Brisbane before starting our trip.
When we arrived he didn’t have a record of our booking??? He managed to give us the apartment at the front of the park which was okay very old. The grounds are very unkept, lot of permanents living up the back of the park with lots of young teens coming in & out of the park which made us a bit unsettled.

Loved this little cabin, very sweet and had everything we needed. It is a little older but did the job. Quiet and homely, lots of storage in the main bedroom. Easily enough room for two people, obviously might be crowded for two adults and three kids!

I get really annoyed when a place advertises wifi in their bookings but it is so bad you cannot use it.
The cabin was clean and you can see the owners are making improvements, but still overpriced for what we got.

CRAP WIFI

Best avoided unless you need kennelling for your beloved pooch.

Accomodation is very basic. Amenities are less so. And the location is by the highway. $72 is cheap. But, for a few bucks more you could avoid the dust, yelping and threadbare feel to this place.

We travelled here last year when we met up with my son from Adelaide.   Figured it was about half way.   It was a very busy time when we arrived, but we were able to get a room.   Parkes is the home of the DISH which followed the mission to the moon back in 1969 and a great place to visit.

Parkes is a great place to stay and look around.

We have stayed in many cabins and cabin 6 is by far the worst one yet. The smell was awful in the office and that should have been the clue. When we walked into the cabin, the smell was so bad that we were at the point of gagging especially when opening the cupboards. No amount of deodorant helped. The cabin was for five people. There was not enough glasses and bowls for the four of us and no teaspoons. The kitchen needed updated. Nothing was tagged and gaffa tape was holding the bench together. The hot plate barely worked. The main blind was held down by the lounge. The screen door didn’t have a lock on it and the main door didn’t lock from the outside. There was only a bottom sheet. No top sheet at all. Doonas were all that were available and we are not convinced of their cleanliness. There were roach baits in cupboards accessible to young children. Didn’t offer our money back, but we didn’t ask for it as we just didn’t want the aggro while we were on holiday.

Ownership in changeover - both hosts friendly and welcoming.  Escorted to cabin and heater turned on for us.  Cabin and linen was clean.  Toilet and washbasin in cabin - showers in amenities block nearby. Small park - ok for one night stay.

No frills

My daughter booked a cabin for two adults and two children through booking.com for $74 and on arrival had to pay $90 and was told it is extra because small children are messier. She couldnt believe it. They were quite rude too. On top of that there wasnt a shower inside.

Price was more than booking.com quoted

Great friendly stay, Ushered to your stay hooked up spot. TV Cable to your van. Clean Amenities, Price comparable to Show Grounds. Overall best value of this trip so far.Close to town, within walking distance with a big old walk bridge over the railway.

Over night Caravan

Was skeptical after reading bad reviews, but we honestly gad the most pleasant experience. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was exceptional. The  manager has to be the nicest motel/hotel manager I've met. Room was clean and tidy and has ample facilities. Fantastic place for a great price.
