We stayed at this amazing little gem during a pretty difficult time. The property on which the B&B is situated was so unexpectedly beautiful and tranquil it really made me feel calm and relaxed during a time I couldnt possibly expected to feel so. With the warm service of the staff lighting the fire every night for us, the beautiful gardens and the charming accommodation with all amenities so close by at such an affordable price it really was one of the best stays I have ever had. I would definately reccommend staying here. Thank you to the staff for everything and the love you put into the place. It is clearly felt when staying at Rothwood.

Tranquil retreat 

my bed was one of the most comfortable beds i ever slept in wonderful scenic location and a homely feel completely self contained i would recomend this to anyone and with an option to hire nice looking rustic furniture for any event

beauitful place to get married

We stayed in the Red Rum room for two weeks. The beds were comfortable and the linen and towel were clean and soft. The area was quiet except for when the kennels down the road had feeding time. You can help yourself to eggs, juice,  toast and spreads each morning. However this was not regularly stocked and the eggs were not laid by their chickens but store bought. Sometimes guests would come and the fridge had not been restocked. For the last 3 days of our stay we had one egg left and no juice. Also another issue no where to park the car under cover. The trees drop a lot and put marks on the car. If you have a car that you take pride in do not stay here.  When driving into the place the sign could be easily missed at night and could be illuminated. The pool area was nice however the pool was not regularly topped with water which meant the filters would not operate properly. During our two week stay we were not offered fresh towels however our bed was changed. We ended up helping ourselves to fresh towels. The toilet and bathroom were not clean when we arrived and were not cleaned during our stay. The Red Rum room is nice however possums would be playing chasey at night in the ceiling. We were told this is the most popular room for privacy however a mat outside the door would of been a good idea. 
The Wifi is very bad with reception which is part of the stay. Another concern was the amount of ants in and on the kitchen benches it was apparent noone had sprayed!  I know Swanee and Kevin are new to this but they need to maintain and clean the inside areas and sweep the outside areas. There is more to this B and B than just the gardens! 

Red Rum Stay

We stayed at this venue for five days and found the place to be excellent. It is a delightful B&B set on 5 acres of land. There are horses agisted on the property and there are also chickens and ducks. We had a large room with an enormous, very comfortable bed and ample storage space / cupboards. It was winter time but each room had its own reverse cycle air conditioner and the bedding was very warm, and there were extra blankets in the cupboard if needed. The room had a large flat screen TV as well. Bathrooms were shared but this was not a problem. The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast which included cereals, juice, eggs (from the chooks on the premises) and fresh bread. One of the lounges (yes there were two) had a wood fire stove in it which our lovely host, Kevin set up for us and which was very cosy to sit in front of in the evening. Kevin even prepared a huge bonfire out the back one night for roasting marshmallows. we didn't get the opportunity to use it, but there is even a swimming pool which I could see would be well used in the warmer months. I would be more than happy to recommend this venue to anyone seeking a getaway in Perth, added to which it is only 10 minutes away from the airport.

Lovely B&B.

This is a charming B&B not far from Perth Airport. The rooms are luxuriously appointed and extremely comfortable. The owners are fairly new to owning and operating a B&B, so there are still some teething issues, but overall we were quite impressed with the accommodation and would happily stay again.

We stayed on two separate occasions for one night on arrival in Perth and one night before we left Perth. We stayed in The Dikler and in Phar Lap.

The pros:
*very high quality linen made for an extremely comfortable night's sleep
*large flat screen tvs in each room
*free wi fi
*attractive and newly refurbished property with an excellent kitchen at your disposal, sitting rooms, a pool and large grounds
*a rural feel but only 18km from the city and maybe 10km from the airport
*the owners are a nice, friendly couple
*you help yourself to breakfast in the morning, which was a plus for us as we could come and go as we pleased
*the guests quarters are completely separate from the owner's quarters, so you don't feel like your treating on each other's toes.
*excellent value for money

The cons:
*Internet reception in the area is a bit unreliable
*The property is a bit hard to spot if you are arriving after dark. They warned us about this and provided some directions. They have also put up a reflective street number sign to assist people in finding the place. An illuminated sign would be useful
*there is a shared bathroom. This was not an issue for us as the bathroom was huge, clean and in excellent condition and we never had any issues with someone else being in the bathroom when we wanted to use it. 
*The fruit in the fruit bowl could have been fresher. The bananas were overripe. The fruit was still edible, but could have looked more appealing
*the second time we stayed, I think they forgot to remove the previous occupant's used towels from the back of the door
*if you are looking for a place to stay that is close to restaurants or other attractions, this may not be a good option. We had a car and brought some food with us, so it was fine.
*There were a few instances in which we thought their customer service could have been improved. 
  1. When making the booking we had to ask for a confirmation email.
  2. When we arrived the first time we found our room had been configured as two single beds, which is not the ideal configuration for a married couple. On the website it says the room can be configured as two single or as a king size bed. When we said we enquired about the configuration, they said it was too much hassle to change the configuration and we hadn't specified that we wanted it set up as a king when we booked. We had to do quite a bit of prompting before they changed us to a room with a king sized bed. However the next time we came they remembered our preference and the process was a lot smoother

All in all, we were very happy with our stay and would gladly stay here again.
