We had a lovely 2 night stay here. It was just perfect, the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The driveway into the park is top quality and the drive thru sites were great. Perfect size and easy to set up. Close to amenities which were clean and decent. Lovely surrounds! Quiet and out of the way but only 20 mins into Canberras top attraction. So glad we stayed here. It was so enjoyable!

Great spot out of the hustle & bustle

I had a lakeview cabin that had the western sub setting on it - so when it was opened up it was SOOOOO Hot.   Air con did its job in the living area but it took forever to cool the two bedrooms down (especially the one without a fan).  The cabin is dated and bathroom is small but was clean neat and tidy and value for money.  

Dated but comfortable.

We haven't been here for years and its was surprising how little had changed. Staff were great when we had to do a later check in owing to another park being unavailable. Roadbase sites are on a slight slope, otherwise sites are fine. Our toilets were very tidy, very clean and well equipped. Plenty of hot water.

Revisit

Stayed here for 3 nights. The park here has so much potential but just needs some TLC. The mini golf and tennis court all need a bit of loving. The camp kitchen was very dark, concrete flooring and when we visited, had water lapping in all over the floor. We didn't use the space at all. For us, the amenities also need TLC. We r fine with older facilities but these looked in need of a good scrub. Strangely both amenity blocks have no ceiling. U can see the roof. This made the amenities very cold. On a positive, it was a quiet location about 15mins drive to Canberra City.

With a little care, this place could be amazing.
Pros:
Surprisingly quiet. Whilst it is quite a long way from the highway, there are lots of families. Was mostly quiet between 8pm and 8am.
Dog ‘freedom’ enclosures - great for those travelling with their furry friends. Powered freedom site was $52 a night for 2 adults, a child and a dog.
Jumping ballon, mini golf & tennis courts available.
Large showers and lots of hot water.
Well set out and organised.

Cons:
Facilities old and in need of updates. Bathrooms in shared ammenities were out of date, and with an open ceiling.
Mini golf and tennis courts in need of repair.
Two ammenities blocks for the entire camp - one washing machine and one dryer in each. Definitely not enough!
Caravan sites not really level.
Dogs in some areas barked a bit, but were mostly quiet at night.
Internet unreliable.

Would I return - unsure at this point

Could be so much more!

Very conveniently located GDay caravan park approximately 15 minutes drive straight down the highway from central Canberra. The caravan site pricing is also quite a bit lower than caravan sites based in Canberra. However, the amenities are old but the showers are hot. There are a few planes that cross over the site in the evening as the airport is not far off, but this did not bother us. All in all, very suitable for a couple of nights stay while sightseeing.

I don't like writing unpleasant reviews but I hope the park considers this for change to better their bottom margin.

Just got back from here and stay 2 nights on a RV cabin style accommodation. 3 adults and 4 kids, ages 4, 6 and two 8 years old. Configuration of each room (3) double bed with s single bed bunk above the double bed with railing, wardrobe and extra linen with 4 towels to each room. Dinning table with 8 chairs, 4 chairs out and 4 stacked under the TV in rhe lounge.  One 3 seater sofer, decent residential fridge, Gus 4 burner stove, microwave and no oven. Ship cabin style and size bathroom with separate cabin size toilet where your knees fight the wall for space. By now I am sure you can tell it was not a pleasant stay, only good thing was we had somewhere to sleep. My brother is 6ft and didn't fit the bed, there is absolutely no room to move in the rooms and have to come out to the living area to be able to change comfortably without knocking a limb into something. The beds had spiders and ticks, my brother had to removed every piece of linen and covers ans shake them out,  we swept the rooms out after rhe shake downs and saw dust and food crumbs. The next morning our kitchen counter was covered in ants and it is where I also placed our home bought condiments mind you I had wiped all surfaces with detol wipes the night before. We ventured out after our visit from the zoo to see what the facilities outside has to offer and unfortunately it was just as bad as the cabin. Our kids went to play on the big oversized pillow trampoline thay was discoloured and extremely dirty, all it needed was a broom and water and it would have been clean. The putt putt area looked like a abandoned cemetery and tennis court needs to be ripped out,  pool was a small little some what plunge if your brave to get into amongst all the debri. I wasn't brave enough to check on anything else, young man at the reception was quiet friendly and helpful. No internet and no reception until your out of the property itself and forget power sockets... either you had one near kettle or the free twin ones in the bathroom if you don't mind the possibility of being electrocuted.  There is power points in the bedroom but all high and there to accommidated the 20 inch TV mounted on the wall along with the fan that's mounted near it. Can not say I didn't warn you, good luck 

This park has the potential to be great but definitely short of being ok right now 

Stayed twice when travelled to Canberra. Isn't time at the lake cabins.  Lovely view and quiet.  Cabin very clean and tidy. Everything for cooking provided. Tea, coffee kettle and 1 litre of milk, very much appreciated. Bed and linen comfy. Air con worked well.
2nd stay in Rosella cabin. Also clean and tidy. All cooking facility in cabin, beds  quite comfortable, good linen. 
Pool was clean and  refreshing. Tennis court was is terrible condition, all rip and tears. 
Park, was quiet and seemed popular.  Quite a few toilets and shower blocks. Camp kitchen as well.
Internet was terrible, not sure if it's because it's in a hallow but anyone on Optus had no reception. 


Quiet location

We had a two night stay in an older style cabin which was very clean and very adequate.  The park is large and well kept.  Rates are very reasonable for Canberra  and it is only 20 minutes from all the main attractions.

Clean and adequate

Good place to stay when passing through. Simple clean amenities. Easy park for big vehicles and lovely people. Didn't bring my kids but other kids were having a ball on the jumping pillow. Reasonably priced.
