We decided to visit the San Remo Hotel for dinner, The menu was diverse. I had braised ox cheek, with mashed potato and broccoli. The ox cheek was very tasty and very large. It has an Asian flavoring, in particular star anise. It was, to my mind, a little sweet but that was more than offset by my pint  of lager, which was pleasantly bitter. My dining partner had a seniors meal. fish and chips, which was so large that I helped her finish her serve. It was a very substantial meal, and very enjoyable. The dining room was busy and the San Remo Hotel was one of the few eateries open on Monday evening.

A very substantial evening meal

From the moment we were greeted to the time we departed, the experience was fantastic. Great vibe to it. Excellent customer service. Fantastic food. Gnocchi with chorizo and BBQ Pulled Pork & Cheese topped Chicken Parma were full of flavour. Would definitely highly recommend and return for sure. 💯👌

San Remo Specialty.

I would call this accommodation 5 star basic. It had all you would need for a short getaway. It was super sparkling clean and made me feel comfortable in the situation we are all in at the moment. A generous size living area and bathroom which had great bench space. The room was warm and cosy with the heater and even electric blankets..which I didn't need to use. You can park your car at your door. It is attached to the pub (rooms are quiet) so a 30 second walk and you can enjoy a meal and drink with no worries about getting home! I highly recommend a stay here.

Fabulous place to stay

Two friends and I stayed in this motel. The man that was at reception was super friendly!! The room was clean and comfortable with extra towels and they also had the fridge stocked up with goods! Brilliant

Friendly and comfortable

Located in the heart of San Remo you are only a few steps from the action. The self contained units are tucked at the back of the pub with access via the driveway between the pub and bottle shop. **Check in is via the bottleshop**
We stayed in unit 11 which was simply furnished with 2 single beds and a queen bed, armchair and a 3 seater table/chairs. There are basic kitchen facilities (bar fridge, microwave, toaster, plates, cutlery, kettle etc) and a large ensuite with shower. The split system heater worked well so the room was nice and cosy plus the bonus of electric blankets on all beds was perfect for these cold winter nights (& reminded me of when I'd stay at my grandma's ♡). We stayed on a busy long weekend with our 4yr old so we weren't out late and we didn't find the noise from the pub too loud when going to bed.

Perfectly simple

Great service, great friendly staff and the food as always very impressive and well priced.
Fantastic atmosphere catering for all types of tastes and being able to look out at the bay from the hotel is also a plus. We will be back.

Return diner

Stayed here for one night during my trip to Phillip Island and was very happy with my room. The staff were wonderful with helping me to check in, despite dealing with crashed Wi-Fi. Despite booking for a single room I was put into a family room, which was absolutely fine - I didn't mind at all and assumed this was because of the computer bug. Upon first walking into the room I did notice a faint whiff of cigarette smoke but this quickly disappeared. Everything was clean and tidy, with plenty of kitchen amenities available (including a kettle, fridge and microwave). I also found a hair dryer, extra blankets and a fan. I did find a couple of design choices about this particular room to be unusual; not only was there no main overhead light that lit up the whole bedroom area, the air conditioner was on the far side of the room and didn't directly reach one of the beds. I ended up leaving it on for some time to ensure the room was cool enough before going to bed. Being able to park directly outside the room was excellent and the site itself was easy to get in and out of. Also be aware that you need to check in at the bottle shop next door, not the restaurant!  Otherwise it was a good stay and I'd happily consider staying here again.

Good location near Phillip Island

Very clean and spacious room at a very affordable rate in a convenient location. 
Once the door was shut, it was quiet.
We did not use the WiFi so cannot comment on it. 
Main downside is hot water or lack thereof - it was very cold, then later that day lukewarm and the next day warm.
Would stay again but not in the winter!

Very good stay but hot water issues

I only had an overnight stay here while taking my young son to the Phillip Island penguin parade but would definitely go back.  The room was a good size, had everything we would need for a longer stay and was clean and comfortable.  There was a bit of banging at night (made me think of something to do with the water pipes) but thankfully it didn't last too long and didn't bother us too much.

Perfect location and great value.

Great atmosphere, had Gluten free Parma! It was delicious! The chips were a little under cooked but otherwise it was great! Waitress was lovely! The Barman needs to write your order down if he’s going to stand in for her! I never got my coffee but small oversight for a fabulous lunch!
