Finished work, dinner not arranged.   Table for 2.  A warm,welcoming place to be of a winter.   Service outstanding and food beautiful. Well done it's lovely to have a local venue that's welcoming and  of high standard. The renovations are great and a perfect location

Food service 10/10

This hotel is apparently under new management and the signs are good that the staff are working hard to make it a positive experience. Check in was easy with a luggage trolley and easy access along a pathway from the carpark to the rooms. Our sea view room had a lovely view (even though it was ground floor) with balcony, although it was a little chilly to take advantage of the balcony. Lots of bird life coming and going outside. The Panorama Bistro restaurant was very good once we realised that bistro meant you needed to order at the bar. Our shared seafood platter for two was delicious, apart from the fact that there was only one piece of fish over which we had to fight! All in all an excellent experience.

Excellent three night stay

We had a very nice meal last night with a group of five.
The drinks were quite reasonably priced as was the meals. We started by sharing garlic bread with cheese and bacon which was very tasty.
We had the chilli prawn pasta (without chilli), fish of the day (flake), Caesar salad and pan-fried kingfish. All meals were very nice, well presented and of good quantity.
The highlight was catching up with Michael Kelly who is the operations manager and formerly of the famous Kelly’s Restaurant, originally at Port Arthur and then Battery Point.

Good value meal

Beautiful Hotel in a truly lovely location. Very well laid out to make the most of the very lovely panoramic views. Great to have the convenience of a restaurant on site. 
The lady at reception was friendly and welcoming. 
We checked in late and had to leave early. So sad we could not stay longer. 

Lovely place. Hope to return. 

Very strange on arrival for dinner as the car park was very dark and entry point to restaurant was unclear. The complex is under new ownership and apparently more improvements are to be made. Restaurant provided a very good standard in meals and drinks and quite good service. Nice dining room with fireplace.

Pretty good

Disappointing for $290 a night. I expected a nicer
room & view. Whilst I could tell from the photos, that this hotel wasn’t newly renovated, I expected better for the price. The so called “water view” was a swampy looking smelly experience. The furniture on the deck was not even a 1 star. The Old uncomfortable timber setting and the disgraceful mess of bird droppings in the corner of our deck made it uninviting to sit out on our balcony. The balcony & water views, were the reason I chose the hotel. 
Nice ladies at reception, comfy bed, spacious room and good shower head pressure were some good points.

Not worth $290 a night

I am guessing this once was a fine establishment but now it’s in disrepair. Apart from the entry the gardens are unkept, the paving into our room wing was severely uneven with grass and weeds, room was clean, mattress old and saggy. The staff spoke poor English & we watched them going from table to table with 2 plates of food trying to work out who ordered the food. Staffing issues appear to be the same throughout regional Tassie. The accommodation has good bones so hopefully they can improve.

This Motel has seen better Days

I booked two rooms. The rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable. We had dinner  that evening, the meal was of a good standards. The waitress and bartender had a poor understanding of the English language, but were very pleasant and worked hard to make sure everyone had good service. They were very cheerful and couldn’t do enough for you to make the evening enjoyable. 

I arranged to have a business breakfast and invited a couple of guests. I’m 68 years old and have stayed in countless motels and can say it was the worst breakfast I have ever had. The bacon wasn’t even cooked, tomatoes were cut into quarters and also not cooked and the onions were raw. I thought the orange juice tasted unusual. Next to us were  some international visitors and with their limited  English I asked if  them if  had a good breakfast and the reply was that they thought it was very bad.  

On handing my key in to the receptionist, I complained in a nice manner telling her it was a terrible breakfast. She asked me what was wrong, I explained and she said they didn’t  have a chef and are trying to get one. We spent roughly $100 on breakfast which was inedible. I was embarrassed as I had invited people for breakfast and the receptionist never even offered an apology and was very stoned faced and certainly not a person I would put on reception. All in all a very depressing experience and we all felt disappointed that someone could treat their fellow human beings in such a way.

Rooms are clean beds are very soft drink water is along walk with no containers to store it in fridge does not live up to info on net

Bogan 1

The place was very dated. Very noisy fridge in room, extremely saggy mattress and squeaky floor - expect to be woken up if anyone gets up during the night. A budget hotel for the price of a normal hotel
