FERAL PUB - no stars
After getting our meals, a greasy/oily shnitzel and a medium-rare stead that arrive well done a patron sitting close by started to talk loudly to the wait staff about our pure bred Corgi (Of all things) being a FXXXXing experiment. She said who is so cruel to do that to a dog. The staff let that slide. 
Patron continued so we told her to shut up(We just wanted to eat a meal). 
She continued to interact with us, and after telling her to keep quiet many times we got up to leave half way through our meal.
As we left she continued to yell abuse across the restaurant at us. 
 Eventually abusing me and my partner, of ten years, for being fXXXXing faggots. 
Eventually security spoke to her.
Horrible experience, hence the no star rating, would never step foot back inside the SIR JOSEPH BANKS HOTEL

FERAL PUB - no stars

Always enjoyed a drink & meal @ TSJB’s pub - still great service, very friendly, but …. the quality of food has fallen off a cliff 🥲 Very ordinary standard, what a shame. Not likely to go back until they pick up the form. the menu on offer was fine, but lacking quality. That said, used to love their crumbed lamb cutlets - no longer offered, again what a shame.

Nice pub, great service - Ordinary food

This is the 4th time been to this Pub in recent months and the food is pretty basic. My friends ate just as I arrived but they all complained about cold chips with their meal. I ordered and specifically asked for fresh hot chips with my Beer Battered Fish. The chips arrived Luke warm and had obviously been re heated as were a mix of burnt crispy chips and freshly reheated chips. All garbage. This has happened on all occasions I visited here. Love the pub but don’t eat here…… how can you get Chips so wrong every time…….  

How do you consistently cook horrible chips?

Went for lunch on a Friday afternoon had a chicken parmigiana it cost $27 very small a handful of chips 1 spoon full of carrots with Mayo & probably the smallest peace of chicken Very Very Disappointed. 
The pub it's self is great with a fantastic beer garden 

Don't go for dinner or lunch if hungry 

Unfortunately the kids menu comes with more nuggets than chips. Well might Be exaggerating, you barely get any hot chips with your meal. The man behind the counter wasn’t too friendly either when I asked if that was all of them. Great beer garden.

Hope you don’t like chips, restaurant review, not the pub itself.

Sir Joseph Banks Hotel is convientently located close to the airport. My room was great and so well priced! Definitely recommend staying here if you need airport accommodation also the food downstairs hit the spot

Great location, great price, perfect for an overnight stay

I booked online for a single room at a pub near the Sydney Airport for a great price, for Australia let alone Sydney. 

Thursday night and the place was pumping. Not packed but plenty of people and vibrant.

The first lady that met me was brilliant, efficient and professional. She showed me around and while I got my bags off the bike she ordered me some food before the kitchen closed. 

All three staff behind the bar said friendly and professional hellos checking I was good. 

The manager sorted out the room quickly easily.

The room was delightful.  Clean, airy, great bed, neat and spacious.  I heard a plane once. I never heard the pub downstairs, nor smelt smoke or beer.  In the morning the coffee shop across the road got a few chatty patrons. All in all I slept well. 

Good shower facilities.  And true to its, probably, between the wars roots, a deep bath.

The double bacon and beef cheese burger was delicious.  I knew I’d get my vegetable material on Friday and after the ride from Canberra it hit the spot big time. 

Don’t usually rabbit on this much but so many dimensions of the SJB (their logo BTW) were that good. 

Hope you get to enjoy it like I did. I shall return. 

Top shelf service, great facility overall

First visit to this pub tonight with friends for dinner and we were all very happy with the relaxed atmosphere, capable service and great, well-priced meals. Although the pie did have way too much salt for my liking to be honest...

Botany is severely lacking quality locations for food and good atmos but this place did the job nicely, we will be back.

Exceeded Expectations

Wrote a nice review about this place, booked a shuttle for the.airport the next day. 30 minutws after pick up time and  no driver i took the decision to order a taxi. As this didnt arrive i hitched to the airport. Alot of stress could be.avoided using Uber. I had no app.

Dont rely on the shuttle. It never came, and i was stranded.

The food isn't what it was - less selection and quality. The staff seem a little pressured now, not as relaxed as they were. Beer still nice and cold and the patrons are friendly. Good beer garden out the back.
