So very, very cute. Spotless clean, a lovely comfy bed and linen. Full of character and charm. We only stayed a night but a great place to stay. Lovely and quiet but woken by the wild cockatoos ! Great location for the Blue Mountains & Three Sisters.

Full of charm and character

Stayed in Buttercup Barn. Rustic, cosy, particularly with curtains closed. Useful kitchen area with microwave and gas barbecue outside. Table, chairs , comfortable settee, easy chair and bath/shower downstairs. Comfy large bed upstairs. Toilet  downstairs. Everything clean and spotless with massive book of rules and information. TV worked fine. Didn’t use the hot tub but met the maintenance man checking chemicals. 

Apparently 95% of building is recycled, it seems to be well insulated apart from big gap under front doors. No evidence that the gas heater was serviced regularly and with heater and wood burner in shared living and sleeping area this is a serious risk, particularly with no carbon monoxide alarm. We didn’t use them and used the blankets in the cupboard to keep warm. We were already tired from the journey but both got headaches soon after we switched the gas heater on which went off once we switched it off.  

Had to park on road as bottom of drive nearly took front of car off. Didn’t see the owners. Had a nice kangaroo kebab on the barbecue.

Buttercup Barn

My 2 daughters and I stayed in the milking shed. We loved the quirky building and furnishings. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was good and we enjoyed the toiletries that were left for us to use during our stay. The beds were comfy. We used the hot tub and enjoyed that also. Very convenient to Leura, just a short walk.
My only complaint was there is no storage area for food, there just being one bench in the kitchen. There is nowhere for anyone sleeping in the beds downstairs to put their bags. And there isn’t a lot of shelf space in the bathroom. Other than that it was a nice stay.

Very pretty

We had waited 3 years to stay here and we are so pleased to have done so. We stayed in the Workers Cottage and appreciated the comfortable beds, cosy lounge and well equipped kitchen. The arrival/welcome touched were also appreciated. Great location for exploring the blue mountains. Thanks Jo!

Worth the wait!

Stayed in Blue Mountains 5-7/11.  What a fun set of accommodations.  Old Dairy a fully self contained property.  Very well insulated and very authentic.  Spotless and covid safe. 
Leura a nice small town - number of different places to eat.  Played local golf course for the stunning views on the 8th and 14th.

A unique property

A very disappointing customer service experience.

I've chosen this property for glowing reviews for a family weekend trip. The booking has been made via booking.com. Unfortunately or fortunately  there was a change in plans and I had to cancel the booking, planning to re-book for another date. The cancellation was done before the cancellation deadline. However, my card had already been charged and after a reminder email, I was refunded the full amount minus a "merchant fee" of 9.00 AUD.  A merchant fee!? It is not a huge amount of money, however, a matter of principle and business ethics. Why would you charge a customer card during the free cancellation period and expect a customer to bear your business expense? It is not really about the money which is a ridiculously small amount but about your business integrity and pride. Says a lot to me and definitely it is not a place I want to spend my money in. 

Poor customer service

Return visit from last year. 6 school friends having a mini break..
The workers cottage was perfect for us. Plenty of room. Comfy beds. 2 bathrooms. 
Second visit and still couldn't get the coffee machine to work but everything else just lovely. 
Perfect spot for exploring..

Great

Quirky but to a high standard, we loved Buttercup Barn and wished we had more than one night. We will definitely be back, hopefully in winter. The only negatives were the possums having a party on the roof (but we didn’t mind once we realised what the noise was) and the guests next door having a party till after 2am. But way too many positives to mention. The fire, the artworks, the hot tub and the privacy are definite highlights. We walked to Leura for breakfast, it was only 900m, although it was mainly uphill on the way. As we arrived on a Friday night we didn’t have any contact with anyone onsite, but communication beforehand was excellent. The espresso coffee machine was a lovely surprise too.

Quintessential Blue Mountains accommodation

I absolutely loved this place. It is so unusual yet so comfortable. Situated in the beautiful Leura area in The Blue Mountains this accommodation offers something a little unusual yet comfortable and well appointed. We stayed in the Milking Shed which was gorgeous. Bed was comfortable, room was private and the amenities were first class. Can’t wait to stay there again.

What a wonderful way to start the new year! We enjoyed an idyllic one night getaway with our 6 month old baby (4th of January 2021) and we cannot thank the owners enough. Jo was incredibly kind and generous at the time of booking. She took the time to talk through our accomodation options and selected one that was not only an incredible rate, but was perfect for our needs. We stayed in the Milking Shed with a beautifully made up baby cot, sturdy child booster seat, generous and delicious breakfast and delightfully burning fire awaiting us on arrival. Check in was straightforward and adhering to current COVID safety guidelines. My husband and I were blown away by the property, we intended to go out for a meal and wound up staying in instead, so we could enjoy the comforts and decor. We left with the most glorious sense of blissful hygge and we will be bringing family to stay with us when interstate travel opens again. Thank you so very kindly again.
