I stayed here for 4 nights during covid 19, and it seemed like the prehistoric days when people would shake your hand, bump into you and offer you a sip of their drink without busting an eye lid, of this thing called " social distancing ". It doesn't bother me too much  personally, but has the potential to  really drive somebodies bearings the wrong way.  Despite that, its pretty good bang for you buck just make sure you get out and see Sydney rather than spending your time looking out your brick wall viewing window, cause $9 a night is a sure hot incentive too not leave the building for some people .

Not bad for $9

By far one of the best hostels I have ever visited. Incredibly clean and the staff are very attentive and thorough when cleaning. Lots of hostel lead activities inc free breakfast every day and free pancakes on a Sunday. Very well located and easily accessible from the airport. 

Absolutely loved my stay here and would definitely come again. 

Excellent

Came here with friends in August and stayed until October, very clean hostel and nice rooms would absolutely come back here next time in Sydney, its reasonably priced and the hostel arranges plenty of events during the day and at night so it's a great way to meet other backpackers.

Nice hostel

I stayed here for 6 nights and I was happy with the room. I booked a 4 bed mixed dorm and it was cleaned twice a day by the hostel workers. The hostel workers get free accommodation in return for cleaning but they do not knock on the door even if you are changing out of the shower, this happened every other day even after we told the reception. The receptionist was also part of the team for events organisers. She got us lost on 3 occasions in the 1 night and then verbally abused my friend in her drunken state as she could not control herself. She had no memory of this the next day but if there is helpers with organisation T-shirt’s you expect some sort of manners! The reputation of the staff was not great all though there were a few nice staff members. The place was clean and comfortable compared to reviews from other hostels around the same area. I would look for somewhere else next time due to the staff as there are many more hostels around with professional staff. Nice place but not very backpacker friendly. 

Almost worth the money 

Ady’s place did not disappoint us.
It had everything we needed, WiFi connection throughout the hostel ( including the rooms and rooftop) and for the price we paid it was quite clean. Very cute little rooftop which adds value to the hostel.

Good quality/price

Good hostel for the price we paid. It had breakfast (bread, jelly & penut butter) and free pancakes on Sundays. The bed was okay and the room was clean. It was a approx. a 20min walk to the Opera House. 

Good Hostel

Stayed there several times and never got disappointed. There is free WiFi in the whole hostel (which is also really fast) and free breakfast every morning. You also get free BBQ and Pancakes on the weekend which is a plus. They have a big events board with daily daytime and night time activities, so it's really easy to socialize and make new friends. Location is great, close to Kings Cross or St James Station and a short walk to the CBD and Opera House. I love that place and will come back :)

I will come back

This hostel is located close to the centre and transport. It is functional and pleasant. The staff works hard to keep the place clean and all the credit for the proper functioning rests on their shoulders. Good for them. On the other hand, the attitude of the tenants is deplorable. People pay no attention to anything, make a lot of noise all the time and seem to care only about themselves. We stole money from a room, nothing should remain apparent for more than 10 minutes without supervision. The only complaint we can make at the hostel is the size of the kitchen, in relation to the number of possible tenants.

Location / price

Very dirty, very noisy, not airy so an infectious smell in the rooms, the staff passes into the rooms to remove the food from your beds.

One week in the most rotten backpack

On arrival I was upgraded from a 8 bed dorm to a 4 bed. The room was spacious, clean & comfortable with an en-suite shower and sink. The only negatives was you almost always got a cold shower unless you woke up at the crack of dawn and the room doesn’t have any air conditioning so it gets a lil sweaty on the summer days (plenty of windows though). As a backpacker, this hostel is great for making friends, they have event managers who organise things for you to do all day. I especially enjoyed our trip to the blue mountains (thanks jack). The kitchen & dining area is a bit small but manageable and the TV room is sociable. I did find it a little strange that there was only 2 toilet cubicles on each floor and 2 showers, if I didn’t have one in the room I could imagine this would be a nightmare. But anyway, it’s a good little hostel and has everything you need as a backpacker (unless your really fussy)
