The service is worst and wifi is useless. The room is really old like a historic building and dirty carpet. The bed is broken and you can feel the spring when you lying down. No lift, you need to carry your luggage three floor up. Don’t waste your money here !!!!!!!

Don’t waste money here ! This hotel is terrible

Don't stay here. It's very noisy outside with road works all through the night plus lots of night clubs. We could hear the karaoke bar next door. Room was also very dirty and not cleaned properly. When we told reception we wanted to leave early he didn't seem bothered at all. This hotel is cheap for a reason.

Save your money, don't stay here.

Rooms were clean. Bathroom may need some little touch ups nevertheless everything is working. The building is old and yes some noise outside can be heard so may not suit a light sleepeer. We booked the family room which is big, with 2 beds , 2 sofas, tv and desk. Ceiling is high so it really makes the room feel larger. There are no lifts so will not suit people looking for accessabiilty. Public Transportation are close by and lots of food options available. Definitely value for money accommodation.

We're heavy in every way, dirty, you can't do anything else, you can hear any traffic and noises outside, you're completely out of this place, I highly disapprove of that.

Dirty rooms. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend.
Beds had stains when I arrived. I asked for them to be changed. They said cleaning service was gone for the day, that they could change them the next day... ?!?! When I complained further they said there was nothing that they could do. On the next day, I had to ask multiple times for them to change the sheets. Incredible.

Torn sheets, dirty bedding, mouldy shower area which hadn’t been cleaned. Windows don’t close properly and right next to main road, walls are paper thin and could hear everything in corridor and next door.

Sons booked through booking.com, photos don't match the real thing. No lift (67 steps to top floor room) Room hot and smelly with mould and litter in shower area. Did not stay and rebooked another hotel down into the city. 75% costs refunded would never return.

Wedding in Sydney

I had a great time at Sydney Crecy Hotel, located on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. 

The penthouse room was smaller than expected but it was neat and clean enough with a small sunroom in the entry way. There's no lift so be prepared to walk up 3 flights of stairs!

It would be great if it had a kitchenette, but there was still a kettle and complimentary tea and coffee available. 

There was a roof top outdoor area which I was lucky to have access to just outside the penthouse suite. Unfortunately it was accessible to other people staying downstairs, which is a bit of an issue during COVID-19 number restrictions, and there was no booking system to ensure number restrictions are being upheld. I was just lucky I got the space to myself and my friends were allowed to hang out (but only 3 people allowed to sleep overnight).

Overall it's great value for money; very polite, friendly and helpful staff; and close to LGBTQI+ friendly venues and restaurants.

Parking might be difficult if you're driving in.

Penthouse Suite: City Views on a Budget

I was a bit worried about staying here, after reading some reviews, however it was clean, quiet, comfortable and a wonderful location.  Check in was easy and yes, there are stairs but that was expected.  We stayed in the Penthouse and air con was quiet and effective.  The room was private from the adjacent terrace with blackout blinds on the outer sunroom/breakfast bar area.  The room is split level so if you can't tackle the stairs, don't book this room.  The mattress is not on a base but the bed was surprisingly comfortable.  The bathroom is a bit squeasy but modern with a big shower and perfect for our short stay. Staff were friendly and accommodating.  I felt completely safe in the building and outside. A super friendly environment.  It happened to be the start of the Mardi Gras when we arrived so was expecting to hear lots of noise at night but it was quiet with the noise confined to the bars.  The shops around the hotel also did not impact our stay which other reviews have made mention of as they were both closed quite early.  Plenty of eating places nearby and a very short walk to Museum Station or to the bus stop outside the door.  If you happen to be there for the Mardi Gras parade, you have hit the jackpot as the view from the roof towards Oxford Street is great.  There is also great city views as well. The terrace was clean and being a small hotel, we felt like we had exclusive use of it as we only ever saw one other group up there, at a time we weren't using it.  This is a long review, as I feel that this place has been mis represented by some reviewers.  All of this is in the context of the price you pay for this accommodation.  For the price, absolutely no complaints.   In my opinion it offered what a 3 star place should.  If you want 5 star features, pay for them.

Budget friendly, comfortable and quiet in a fantastic location.

We were in this hotel booked by our tour operator. The photos on expedia look decent, it looked like a good hotel. But it's three-star. It's nothing. It's more like a rented room/hostel. It's more like a walk with you up the stairs, humidity everywhere, mushrooms like carpet dust that jumps on you in every corner of the room.
