Absolutely stunning colonial cottage in central Tanunda - right in the heart of the Barossa Valley.  Full kitchen with breakfast foods provided - eggs, bread, bacon, etc.  Separate lounge and huge bedroom with spa bath & shower in the bathroom.

Colonial Cottage Tanunda

Conveniently located (walking distance) to Tanunda town. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well equipped in a quiet area & spacious. Tanunda has excellent restaurants and interesting shops. Our host was helpful, but not intrusive

Cosy cottage, well located & equipped

This is most possibly the best place I have ever stayed in terms of facilities offered to guests.
A beautiful original cottage, tastefully renovated and supplied with everything one needs including nice crisp linen and a quality breakfast.
"Excellent" is the only possible description. 

6 star accommodation 

This place was wonderful. The manager, Ngaire was readily available to answer our questions. The Cottage was 1840s self-contained, nestled in historic Goat Square. It was cosy, charming, non-smoking & comfortable, in a quiet street within walking distance of Tanunda. We had access to a garden with a BBQ, a laundry & clothes line, a full kitchen including cutlery & crockery, provisions to prepare our own breakfast along with a bottle of Goat Square Shiraz. Included was free parking, a kettle, coffee filter. Tanunda offered a range of restaurants from the highest quality, 1918, to cafes, wine tasting bars and takeaway. Tanunda has artesian shops through to the eclectic or basic. It was a wonderful location and experience.

Cosy, comfortable, charming historic stone cottage with mod-cons.

This cottage was perfect. An amazing experience to stay in such an old building. As soon as I walked in I felt at home. Cosy, comfy & quiet. Very well presented with extras. Loved the breakfast items e.g bacon, eggs, juice & bread.
Good quality linen and towels. Easy walk to the main street. Could've stayed longer. Enjoyed reading the history of goats square 

Home away from home

Stayed here for three nights while visiting the Barossa and loved it. Stayed in the Menge Cottage which was spacious and comfy with an air con that worked beautifully. The beautiful provisions ( eggs, bacon, bread, oj) were fantastic and the available laundry was a bonus.
Tanunda is the perfect base for anyone visiting the area.

Perfect place to stay

Beautiful cottages, ours had bedroom, separate bath/toilet, lounge and dining/kitchen.  All genuine period cottages.  Ours was well appointed, clean and had everything we needed.

Wine on arrival and breakfast supplied for our two day stay.

Amazingly restored cottage with every convenience imaginable. 5 star. Comfortable, spacious, spa bath, huge bed, cosy, walking distance to Main Street pubs, restaurants etc. stay in a piece of history. Couldn’t fault it if you tried. Even fantastic breakfast provisions and a bottle of local Shiraz.

Stay in historic surrounds

Was cold and wet outside when we arrived but it was warm and cosy inside the cottage. Tastefully decorated,  these historical cottages are close to the Main street and the hotels and restaurants located there on.  Breakfast provisions for the two days were provided and the spa bath was put to good use. Would recommend the cottages to one and all

Great location steeped in history

After visiting the Barossa in 2019 for Vintage, we knew Goat Square would be an excellent location for our stay. Walking distance to restaurants, cafes and shops. Flaxman cottage, which looks out onto the square, was so comfortable and well appointed. It is easy to see that this cottage has been well cared for and set-up to please. Thank you!
