We had such a great time at Karijini Eco Retreat. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We managed to squeeze in two nights to eat at the restaurant with our family, which was very enjoyable. The showers and toilets were always clean and it was just a fabulous location to have a campsite. My only feedback would be longer generator hours during the hotter months.

Great family experience

We loved Karajini, & all the lovely gorges & swimming holes. Our Eco tent was clean & comfortable. We had no light on our decking, which made it very difficult when cooking. Also I would have liked if our 4WD could have been right next to the tent, instead of 60metres away. Especially when wanting to get to our fridges in the car. Other guests also commented on that as well. So I thought paying $240 per night wasn't very good value for the money.

Great place to visit!

We arrived in early march., so at the end of the wet season. This has its bonus’s and drawbacks. Bonus is that you almost have the place to yourself, drawbacks are that most of the gorges in the park are closed. 
There seems to be an over cautious approach to close roads and gorges and a reluctance to open them. We ignored the Joffre closure and walked into it. Absolutely mind blowing and to me the highlight of Karijani. It’s at the back of the eco retreat - so if it’s officially open - a visit is compulsory!
The information centre is fantastic and the staff helpful. We wanted to get to Hammersly gorge and were told that we’d be taking our live into our hands trying it. We did, in our Hyundai Tuscon!! The only ones at the gorge for days - another life highlight! 
But at this time of year as a tourist you feel like you’re battling officials to get there.
Finally, the staff at the Eco retreat were all new but very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent. 
The accommodation is good. We’d have preferred a small fridge, but the ice and esky worked well. Bed was comfortable, the tent kept most of the insects out and withstood a serious downpour.
The gorges are amazing, absolutely worth visiting, and the eco retreat puts you right amongst them

Can’t beat the location

We stayed just one night in summer with our campervan. Since the sites are  unpowered and there is little shadow it was very hot, still 33 at midnight. The restaurant was also closed during our stay because it was off-season. Nevertheless we got to see Joffrey, Dales, Fortescu, Fern Pool and Hemmersley Gorge. The staff was super friendly and gave us all the information we needed. 
Water was free and cooled in a fridge, which was great too.

Short summer stay

We had an unforgettable experience. It was extremely hot but otherwise we really enjoyed our time here and the staff were amazing. We loved hearing the dingo's howling in the morning. There wad hardly anyone around when visiting the beautiful locations and had the place to ourself which we loved.

It was an unforgettable experience 

We had booked a campsite for 3 nights - only stayed 2. The road into the resort was terrible due to recent rain. There were lots of potholes and corrugated sections. The campsite was full of sharp stones - not great for air beds. There were some great walks to do around the resort area but roads to other parts of the National park were terrible we saw several flat tyres as a result. The facilities were not that clean and little hot water, no lights and in need of some TLC.

It was an unusual place where we stayed for two days from a luxury tent. Everything was perfect, clean, a region with breathtaking gorges, wonderful moments of sharing as much with other travelers as with the very friendly, very supportive and loving staff of their region, an unforgettable experience forever!

What an unforgettable experience!

Overall, the experience at Karijini Eco Resort was a good one. I would recommend people get the air conditioned accommodation when it is extremely hot (which is a lot of the time).

A negative experience was the assistance at the front desk. We were keen to find a tour of the gorges. The front desk said they did not deal with this aspect at all. There was a tour but we had no assistance in getting one. We did the trips by ourselves and that was fine but a bit of help would have been nice.

The eco lodge is said to be owned and operated by indigenous people. There was very little evidence of this. Perhaps such an important feature could be made more prominent.

Gorgeous Gorges

There are only 3 Luxury Eco Tents (No. 51-53), very new for 7 months. In November for 450-/night the price ratio is right. The tent is really luxurious, the bathroom with shower/WC/washbasin is even properly built. The best thing is the daily filled minibar with 2 beers, 2 sparkling wines, 2 white wines, 2 red wines (the wines are 187ml each), various sweets, water, chips, shoggi etc. We had breakfast delivered to the tent to enjoy the great view and privacy even at the neighborhood.

Luxury Eco Tent: really luxurious, super food

Wow what can I say. There are not enough superlatives to describe our experience at Karijini Eco Resort. From the moment we checked in with the assistance of our “bush butler” Bec (hope this is correct, she was the lovely Canadian)   She explained everything to us including which gorges to try & how to get there. 
Our Luxury Eco Tent was so far above expectations. It included a fabulous king bed, gorgeous full en-suite, lounge area, & dressing area. Most beneficial was the air conditioning which after returning from a 39deg day in the gorges was fabulous. It also included a complimentary mini bar!!! We then found out this was restocked daily!! It included wine, beer, water, snacks & everything we could want. 
Our stay also included a fabulous breakfast every morning & a packed lunch each day including check out, in a great cooler bag you get to keep. 
Every staff member was amazing. If you can afford it you must stay here. It is not camping it’s extraordinary GLAMPING!!
