Located near hospital. Good basic accommodation but needs better cleaning. Hard if you have luggage sigh stairs. For price would stay again. StAff (male) think supervisor could be a little more helpful after you have Just spent 12 hours travelling

Near hospital so good location

Needed to stay close to hospital and this is a great place as it is only minutes away.
Have stayed previously, and thats why we come back to it.
Food is fabulous, servings large  and not over priced
Atmosphere is relaxed with calming views  overlooking  water

Riverview Tavern has hired appalling security guards. Last night - one of my final nights out as a university student - was ruined by false accusations from these guards. After first accusing a friend of mine I was then targeted myself by a pair of guards who escorted me out. I was accused of offending one of the female staff members, yet I had not talked nor seen any such female staff. After I asked what I said and who had accused me, I was told to leave, without any explanation. The fact that someones planned night out can be ruined by staff making accusations from a far and power-hungry security guards thinking they have the audacity to kick people out without proof such as confirmation from "offended" staff members is disgraceful

Abusive security

Stayed overnight because of the location/proximity to family.
Rooms are above the tavern and thus some noise does make into your room.

Probably the most concern I had was that the parking is in a pub carpark and not secure, that caused a bit of worry, and secondly - there isn't any lift/elevator.
Ok so all of the fit people who travel light - all good , but if you are a little not so fit and have a little bit of luggage - its hump it up the stairs.

The room itself is basic, reasonably clean - but the bed is low and fairly hard with springs that make themselves known to your back.
All in all , I'd probably stay again if options were limited but definately not my first choice.

The room is in good condition. Although WIFI was not working for my smart phone and tablet. But was working for the laptop. The IPhone was working a night earlier. A Microwave oven is included. Car park is not secured.

Townsville Hotel Review

Unfortunately the guy working in the Keno Bar area where we ordered our drinks was extremely arrogant and gave absolutely no customer service.  There is nothing worse than the feeling of 'being an imposition' when you pay their wages through purchasing food and beverages.

We were going to order dinner but the way that the staff were handling the food was very off-putting so we left.

Poor Customer Service Turned Us Away

The room was only serviced with a clean and fresh towels after the first night. After the second night the room was not cleaned and we had no fresh towels, and unfortunately we had used 1 of the towels for mopping up the bathroom floor. The rooms are above the pub which is quite noisy, and the tavern is also under the airport flight path.
