We stayed for 2 nights in room 19.  It was in the second row from the road and had no road noise.  The shower was good.  We had our own wifi so can’t comment on the wifi on offer.  Netflix was included.  The fridge has a little freezer.  The unit had tea/ coffee 2 bowls and 2 plates.  It was close to a pub across the road, 5 min walk.  
The bed was comfy and the ac worked well.  
There were a number of other travellers here and families as well.
I think the pool has been filled in but the bbq area is still there although We didn’t use it.
Checkin was easy.

Stayed for 3 nights because town very booked. Why are there so many Chinese/Asian woman staying here in the back rooms? I do know why. They get lots of visitors Really uncomfortable environment. Do not recommend this hotel at all for families. 

Prositute 

I stayed here on business for 2 weeks. Friendly staff. No noise. Slept well. Easy parking. The Rooms were clean and serviced upon request.
I enjoyed the free barbecue. 

 They provide milk tea and coffee and a fridge. And easy to chill at night with free netflix. 

I Would certainly recommend this place. 

Quiet & Friendly Motel

I came here for 3 days of work. And the first night I got about 1 hour of sleep due to the other people there. Whoever the guy at reception was really rude didn’t care to be there. 

So I suppose if you enjoy doing drugs until the sun comes back up this will be good for you, if you genuinely need some sleep, go somewhere else.

Must of been a bad week to choose q express.

The hotel has prostitutes working there with some of the room right across from the swimming pool, so people coming and going on most nights. What topped it off for me was one of the prostitutes trying to convince  a client to stay while walking out in the car park in a see through nighty.

My wife and I were looking for a room in Townsville, we came across the Q Express 
Well that was the best thing we’ve done, the lady at the check in was fantastic telling us the motel had only just reopened after the February floods and had been totally refurbished.
It was like a new Motel, everything was new from the fixtures to the carpet and she recommended having breakfast across the road which was also very good.
The whole experience was fantastic and I can recommend this Motel to everyone

Best on Bowen Road

Comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, reception was prompt and friendly. Price was right.  The room has a new queen bed a couch and coffee table,  wifi worked fine. No road noise and handy to food.  Very impressed and it has made my contacts list

Worst hotel/accom experience I have ever had through out many years of travel and having stayed in many places in many countries. 
They advertise 24hr check in yet we book at 7.30pm - arrive at 8.15pm and they won't check us in (office closes 8pm) someone on the phone says sorry not taking any more bookings yet our booking had been confirmed and money taken and there is a huge light outside glowing "24hr check in!"
It was myself and my 5yo, had just been dropped off after a 6hr drive , ubered to the accommodation after getting dinner as we had no car - for them to tell us that! No kiss my bum, no sorry, just yup see ya later, deal with it. Myself and 5yo stranded in a strange city, no car, phone almost flat, my son freezing and crying, and late at night, at a 24hr check in motel. Fuming ! 
Do not deal with these people, they have no idea what customer service means and false advertise. I cannot believe the way they behaved, lazy, unprofessional, rude and heartless. 
What made it worse is they live on site and could probably hear my son crying right outside thier window.  
I'd hate for this to happen to anyone else

Unbelievably rude, lazy, false advertising

Travelled from Port Douglas for the rugby and chose Q Express for affordability and location to 1300SMILES Stadium. 
The room was great for what we needed. Comfy bed, good air con and the bathroom had been done up nicely. 

1 night stay

We booked this hotel for a trip to Townsville to visit our daughter in hospital. The price is what swayed us to pick this hotel along with the reviews on Trip Advisor saying it was ok overall. Thinking we wouldln’t be in the room much anyway, we went ahead and booked. On arrival, at around 4pm we found the reception was closed even though the sign on the door stated opening hours were 8am to 8pm. We called the number noted on the sign and it connected but no one was on the other end. After about 5 minutes, some came to book us in. When we went in to the office, the gentleman said ‘We’ve upgraded you’. Upon then looking at the computer h e then said ‘Can I have a look at that paper again?’ (This was our confirmation from Booking.com) and said ‘Oh. We’ve put you in 17’ and showed us the way. When we got in to the room it was definitely not an upgrade as it was just a basic room. Also were supplied with only one roll of toilet paper and when we called about getting another they said we were welcome to go purchase some.
Room was not that clean, free wifi was super slow but air con worked really well.
