Have had a wonderful afternoon at the Bushland Beach Tavern but can somebody please explain to me why you can’t have a drink in the smoking area after 5pm ? Makes zero sense !!! I’ve heard no smoking in eating area. That makes sense.Please please explain

Do not understand

3 of us stayed here on a ride around the country, and so glad we did.
We stayed here because a mate lives in this outer suburb, if Scott didnt live in Townsville we would have ended up somewhere close to the city.
Rooms have verandahs, sliding doors, easily at least twice the size of all the family rooms/ 2 bedroom apartments we had stayed at in prior 3 weeks on the road.
Modern, clean, tidy, great water pressure and the added bonus of asking for and getting real milk.
If I wanted to be nit picky only downsides were no conpendium in room or wifi, but they are minor compared to the  advantages.
Good food in the tavern as well.
If I ever get to Townsville again this is where I will stay.

Really Impressed

Visited twice once planned 2nd due to A1 all day closure. Had 2  schnitzel very crisp second crumbed steak...both brilliant. Chicken bacon avocado wrap..lovely chicken, seniors meals great value..have smaller main yet include desert..apple crumble delightful.
Staff very helpful. Fair wines prices lovely spot across from the beach easy parking.

The Tavern has been very hit  and miss over the years haven’t been for ages.
Went tonight with my elderly parents food excellent Thai beef salad parmi  just perfect.
parents had senior meals great value for money.
Great service keep it up we will be back 😀

A Nice surprise

We had lunch at the Tavern today and I've food was  absolutely  unpalatable!.   My meal of  what was supposed to be Eye Fillet was actually RIB Fillet!  The  steak was overcooked to the point of being boot leather!  Mashed potato was  a deep cream colour and was either left over from the previous day or was made from dehydrated potato powder.  Bottom line  - never ever again!

Lunch

The Bushie is my local.  It's a great pub. Staff are friendly and live music on a Saturday night has come back.  
Today is a Friday night.  I always drink a QLD lager and it's good.  
Tonight I tried an XPA, and it was more expensive as predicted.  
The first two were $7.90.  Kewl.  Then I had a third.  $8.20. 8 Hmm?   
Ok.  The next was $8.60.  (Bank records prove)
The next was $8.20.  (3 different servers)
The next I waited for the first server, $7.90. 
The current one $8.20.  I brought this to the waiter's attention.  My fault!   Clearly someone charged me the wrong prices, multiple times and I should get fuxked.  Not thier issues.  
Pay the full price.  No apology, no thank you.  No compensation.  
Gotta love Australia.  



Few Beers

Nice spot near a beach and playground.  They have a pool so you can make an afternoon of it with the kids.  Very clean venue, efficient & professional service.  Food was lovely.  Look forward to going back and having their Thai Beef Salad again!

Lovey spot by the beach

Great place to stay. Big clean room with parking out the front. Only a 15 second walk to the Tavern itself. Fantastic staff, excellent food. We had Chicken Schnitzel and Smoked chicken, Bacon and mushroom pasta. DIVINE!! Would be great for families as it has a pool outside the In the “beer garden” where you can watch the kids. Book directly through the Tavern though its cheaper. The website sends you through Booking.com, who charge more. 

Great place!

We stopped here on our way from Cairns to Airlie Beach. We usually spend the night on  the strand but wanted somewhere different. Its right on the beach. The turn off is at the ring road exit.The rooms are nice &  consist of double bed  and 2 singles. There's a fridge and microwave and nice little garden patio. The price is pretty cheap. The tavern does good meals and have entertainment & pokies. There's huge outdoor dining area right on the beach. They also have outdoor cafe selling hot dogs chips etc good for the kids. We enjoyed our short stay.

She has a beautiful voice and a professional approach to entertain patrons. Well done Bushland Beach Tavern. Another relaxing Sunday over looking the beach.
