Absolutely magical setting staying in quirky but comfortable cabins.  We loved the serenity, the hammock on our balcony overlooking the creek and the spacious and open plan architecture of the accommodation.  One tip - bring your own supplies - no milk or coffee in the room.  But that’s a small issue that didn’t detract from our stay at all.  

Magical bush hideaway 

Relaxing, private cabins near the river. Have spa bath & balconies. Great people running place. Friendly & fun. Awesome property to just relax & do nothing to walking, birdwatching, canoeing, fishing. We stay several different times here. Love to return. 

Beautiful place


Recently I arranged for a surprise gift hamper to be delivered to Bewong River Retreat for my parents who were staying there over the weekend. 

I called Lisa (manager) to explain my idea and she was extremely helpful during the whole process. Not only did she offer to make space in her fridge to keep the food fresh and cool, she also sent me pictures of the hamper when it arrived! 

Lisa went out of the way to make sure my parents were well looked after and comfortable over the entire weekend and they are certainly grateful for everything she did to make their experience a restful and relaxing one. 

Lisa is well spoken and genuinely caring in nature and a pleasure to talk with. Her presence at the retreat is what makes the place extra special! She definitely deserves a pay raise ;) Thank you Lisa, I hope your boss’s recognise the gem they have in you and wish you all the best in your own endeavours! 

More than Accommodating 

The grounds and accomodation overall was great, was their for a wedding so had the whole property booked out for the wedding, from Friday to late check out Sunday.  You can swim in the river that runs through the property.  Has a generous size barbecue area under roof. 

Only complaint they need more attention to detail whilst cleaning, a little dusty in places.

Stayed for wedding

Before our visit this week, we last went to BRR 12 years ago and had been regularly before that. This was our first time there since children. 
It's such a great place but it needs some attention sadly. This is at two levels- one at a simple maintenance level- all the taps dripped and the mixmaster tap in the kitchen was seriously loose. At the other level, you could easily update it a little- neutralize colours, replace dated fittings and faded furniture.

Having said all of this- the magic is still there- the serenity, the privacy, the spa you have and it feels like your in the trees, the hammock on the deck, the light, sounds and location. It really was a very special place and still is today. If this is what you're looking for, this will be special for you. If you're looking for faceless Hilton decor with no personality then this place may bother you. I really challenge anyone not to have a special break I this place though.

A beautiful but fading old lady

Thoroughly enjoyed this place for a number of reasons.  Scott was warm and welcoming upon check in and to be offered a late check out of 12pm for no extra cost was a really nice touch.  The cabins were situated away from the office and main roads and strategically placed so that you didn't hear or see your neighbors.  I think the biggest and best drawcard for us was there were no children or teenagers around.  This place is geared for the honeymooners or those couples wanting to spend quality time together in a romantic setting.

Everything was self contained with a short drive to a Supermarket so you didn't have to go our if you didn't want too.  The Double Spa in the room was a nice touch especially with the big windows looking straight out into the bush.

The cabins were roomy and spacious.  The kitchen adequately appointed although you might need to wash the cups, plates and cutlery before using.  They were definitely not up to par.

Found the pool table tucked away and a big outdoor open fire place with BBQ for communal cooking.  A group of people could easily book out the 12 or so cabins for a weekend away.

All in all a lovely place for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or just wanting to reconnect with each other.  Spacious grounds and lots of kangaroo's.

Peaceful place of Paradise

The cabins are looking a bit dated inside now, and the themes are slightly tacky. Was quiet and lovely location next to the river. The BBQ didn't work and we didn't have hot water, only slightly warm. No wifi. Only basic provisions in the kitchen but satisfactory for what we needed.

Needs updating 

Stayed at Bewong for 5 nights and other than the weather, we enjoyed every minute. The cabins are perfect for couples and situated in the bushland so that you truly feel like the only ones there. You can see the river from the cabins, so a great view also. There is a jetty and a boat ramp, and lots of wildlife around the cabins. A great place to relax.

Relaxing in the bush 

We went there for a weekend away. Very private and secluded. Limited phone and Internet reception meant we enjoyed our time without interruptions from the outside world. Nice to have our own BBQ on the veranda where we had dinner. Quite easy to drive to main parts of jervis bay (about 15mins). Overall a great place to stay.
