Alpbach has stolen my heart.
Stayed for 7 nights skiing. 
Andreas, his wife Madeline, and all of their staff were all so friendly, making you feel at home. 
The guest house is cosy, spotless and all you need for a cosy week skiing. Big hotels with OTT decor is not our style, so this guest house was perfect for us. 
Superb breakfast and three course dinner each evening. 
The room was lovely with stunning views of the valley. 
The guest house is only 5 mins walk from the bus stop to get you to the slopes.
The village is beautiful, with a fantastic medium sized supermarket if you need one. 
We had the most wonderful week and will be returning to this village and guest house for skiing holidays in the future.

Alpbach has stolen my heart

This is an excellent guest (not a hotel so look at the website) .The room was spacious ,clean , comfortable and warm with great views from the balcony . The food at breakfast and dinner was very good and service was fast and efficient . Very good location close to the ski bus stop. Overall a great stay and excellent value for money .

Excellent experience .

Stayed here on a group booking and after reading the reviews had high hopes of a descent stay. Arrived after very long journey. Reception from owners when checking in was off hand and abrupt. Several people on our trip had issues with their room for example, not what they had booked, or in a bad location for noise.  We witnessed that one  lady had booked 2 separate rooms with her friend as they wanted separate bathrooms and  paid the solo surcharge and then were put in rooms with shared bathroom, owners response 'if you don't like it go somewhere else' in front of other many other guests how, humiliating for her.
 Another issue was that the hotel had changed to a set menu so  absolutely no choice if you could not eat what they presented you with you had to pay £15 for changing the dish. Apparently the tour operator was not notified, in my opinion this would of been the right thing to do communicate.
 There are no tea making facilities in the room, you can only get refreshments at breakfast or after 6.30 when dinner is served, once this is done you have nowhere to drink and are encouraged to leave the restaurant.
 Our room was roughly cleaned but the bathroom and bedroom floor were never cleaned . Reception is not manned so you have to ring a mobile number if you need anything. Even with the  window and door open  to balcony our bedroom was like a sauna ,  there is building going on at the end of the field to the rear and this started banging at 7.20 a.m not ideal.
 There is no information board with details of events in village just some generic leaflets, one evening by chance we found out there was a festival going on in the village, it would be great if we been told  this. Now this village has a conference centre which can take over 1000 people so if you arrive when one is going on, like we did it can get quite rowdy. 400 Swiss delegates had arrived and boy were they celebrating. So be aware it is not always a quite place.
All in all this is not as a uk 3 star hotel would be more of a guest house with evening meal and we were very disappointed. 

Not 3 star more guest house with food

We stayed here in Sept 2023 and the first impression is the beautiful village it is located in.  The hotel is spotless and this is a credit to them.  Our room was vey basic, small wardrobe but no draws, no tea/coffee facilities and the ensuite was no more that 1 metre wide. The towel rail was constantly hot, even with outside temperatures of  high 20's and with no window or working extractor fan in the bathroom it  made the bedroom like a sauna.  Pillows were dreadful, even with an additional one which was smaller. This may be individual preference, but we did hear others with the same opinion. 
Breakfast was good, but a slight selection would have been appreciated, or the  inclusion of fresh tomato, etc.  As we were with a tour, evening meal was one set menu, no choice, no consideration for any dietary requirements. however, if it caused no problems the food was very well cooked, a good chef.  The bar was also in the restaurant and wasn't open until 6.30pm and we were 'encouraged' to depart soon after dinner so that the tables were cleared and prepared for breakfast.  Sadly, there was no other  area within the hotel to get any refreshments and only a small snug area if  you wanted to remain in the hotel. This is where it is lacking but appreciate it is an old building.  So any time outside  the two meals, any refreshments would have to be sought outside the hotel.  The safe wasn't the best and was very temperamental, but the manager was always happy to assist.
So if it's a base you want, not too fussed about drinks either in the room or later in the bar, it's ok but if you are looking for a little more comfort, you would be disappointed.  It is also over 3 floors, restaurant on the lower floor and there is no lift, so some may need to consider access issues. 

Beautiful village, basic  accommodation

My partner and I had a great time we stayed for 2 nights in a double room with beautiful views! This is a family run guest house kept beautifully clean very friendly owners and staff, Breakfast is included fresh fruit meats cheeses, bacon eggs etc. Picked my son and his mate up From Graz then returned after 2 days and was offered a 2 bed apartment at a great rate for 3 nights!
There’s a good size Spar in the village for groceries restaurants etc 
If you like a spa a couple of the hotels allow none residents we used the Alphof one afternoon.


Great friendly place to stay

The hosts were so so friendly and went out their way to do anything! I got my handbag stole at the airport which had my pill in I and other things. I needed my tablet but it was a Saturday so there was no chemist available apart from one that was an hour away! Andreas drove or booked the taxi to get my pill and it was delivered to my door at the end of the day he organised to drive over an hour for me! or booked the taxi to drive and drop it with no hesitation! I am so pleased with the service!!

I am also a pescatarian and a fussy eater which doesn't help for this stay as you fill out a form with the food you want foreach day (you have 3 options to chose from) however, for me 3 days out of 7 I didn't like the menu or needed it adapted and they adapted it to me perfectly I just wrote on the back of the sheet what I wanted and they delivered the waitress was amazing! He spoke to me and said instead of just plain tuna pasta do you want tomato sauce and tuna pasta so it wasn't just plain and boring! This must have been so annoying for them however, they just acted like it didn't matter at all!! I would definitely recommend. My mum is also gluten free and she needed gluten free bread for the buffet at breakfast and they brought it out straight away again no fuss what's so ever.

On the first day the chalet host spoke to us about bus times etc. The bus is a 3 minute walk from the hotel and the buses run every 10 minutes. We got given a piste map and a bus time schedule as well. The owners come down sometimes through out the week at dinner and speak to us about how our day was and any single question would be answered! Excellent knowledge of the surroundings even if it's noting to do with the hotel! 

The ski hire place is also a 3 minute walk away literally right next to the bus stop so you don't have to walk far for that! They have a boot room as well which is just across from the hotel however we stayed in the rooms above the boot room which was even better for us! 

Overall I have nothing to complain about!! Our rooms got cleaned/tidied everyday besides the bins but that didn't matter too much!

Excellent

Just returned (18-25th Feb 2023) from a brilliant  weeks skiing with CRYSTAL SKI holidays in Alpbach. We stayed at this excellent hotel/guest house. Madeliene and Andreas the owners are brilliant and want you to have a great time. The food is FANTASTIC!!   They are very helpful in every way. I read the guys earlier review from Christmas 2023 that gave them 1 star about some incident about him forgetting his wallet and he got annoyed with them for covering their costs to get it back to him. Personally i'd IGNORE IT.  I'll tell you what we found. Its great is the honest answer !!!

We arrived from Innsbruck airport early in the morning with only a few other new guests from Crystal Ski. Madeliene the hotel owner said there were two options for our party of 3. even though we were expecting from the room description/photo a large three bed room with balcony. Madeliene said she had two options but as we were first arriving for a 3 person room we could take our choice.

 What I mean is she wanted us to be happy and pick the best of the two options for our party as we'd got there early. The first room was smaller than I had anticipated based on the info/photo  but it had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. However Madeliene then showed us to the house next door. As they have the main hotel /guest house and two other buldings next to it. She took us to the top of the building and offered us a full apartment at no extra charge. So my son had the main room in the aprtment with a very comfortable fold out sofa bed. This room included a kitchen area and 4 person seating area for eating/playing cards etc and my wife and I had our own bedroom. Which we were not expecting which was an absolute bonus. The apartment had a separate toilet and separate bathroom. Also a  corridor with enough space for hanging ski jackets/salopettes and helmets etc. The bathroom in the apartment was smaller than the first  room we were offered  had a sloping roof (bumped my head a couple of times :-) )  as we were up on the top level but it was small price to pay for an unexpected luxury for all the unexpected extra  space and separate bedrooms. 

So the moral of this part of the review is they will do their best for all guests. You might get a slightly smaller room or you should get as you expected or in our case  you might get more than you expected. I assume it will be completely down to how full they are at the time of arrival. The fact that we were offered a choice and got more than we anticipated at no extra cost was fantastic. Can't fault them for trying their best and it made our stay better than we ever anticipated. 
 
WIFI -is great and worked brilliant in the top floor apartment. We took out Amazon fire stick with us and were able to watch Amazon prime in the evenings before bed on the small TV in the main room of the apartment. Luckily i took a USB battery pack to power the fire stick. There were also two armchairs in the main room of the apartment. The decor in the top apartment is probably due for a revamp in the longer term. However we were absolutley delighted with the accomodation. The kitchen area had a kettle and fridge and cutlery etc. we were able to enjoy cold beers and wine and hot coffees in the morning as were getting up before we even went down to the dining room in the main guest house/hotel. There is a Spar supermarket just round the corner from the guest house( about 3-4 minutes walk) Has everything you need.   

THE FOOD FROM HAUS ANDREAS! JUST BRILLIANT.  The breakfasts were good continental and lots of choice. There was also a hot breakfast in the form of streaky bacon and scrmabled egg in food warmer on the left side of the door as you enter the lovely tyrollean  dining room. Great automatic coffee machine. Just fill up for the days skiing ahead. 

THE EVENING MEALS BRILLIANT.  As others have stated you arrive on the first night and are provided with a lovely starter (most nights soup --but delicious soup with cream toppings and bread)  A very filling and delicious main course and beautiful desert/pudding. There is a two sheet menu for the week  on your table at the start of your stay. The table had our name on it and was the same table we had for  the week. You were then able to pick each evenings main course in advance, out of a selection of 3/4 per night. 1 or 2 meat or fish and then usually 2 vegetarian. ITS ALL GOOD. PRESENTATION. TASTE . SELECTION. By choosing in advance you cut down on waste for all concerned. Also it was quite nice knowing the food was so good. That whatever you had selected would be good. 

 I always enjoyed what I picked but also envied what was also on my wife and lads plates if it was different to my selection. We ended up not evening eating at all.  There was just no need. Which is unusual for us. We will usually eat out at least one night in a good hotel. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AT THE HAUS ANDREAS AS THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD. Also if you ordered a bottle of wine with meal usually about 23 euro's you can ask the staff to save it over night and have it with the next meal if you fancy. Its just great relaxed dining and we loved it. We found out over the course of the week that the chef had been part of the team with Andreas and Madeliene since the begining of the hotel and the whole set up was run like clock work. IT IS GOOD AND THEY ARE GREAT AND THE WHOLE TEAM OF STAFF ARE GREAT. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK  :-)

Just returned from a week in Haus Andreas Alpach 18th Feb 23 to 25th Feb 23 
Had an EXCELLENT holiday in this Hotel 
I would highly RECOMMEND to anyone
FOOD was EXCELLENT ( I have a picky husband and he ate every single thing on his plate (a 3 course meal every night )
STAFF were LOVELY
EXCELLENT location for ski bus
Our  Hosts ANDREAS and MADELEINE were very friendly and welcoming

EXCELLENT HOTEL

Here with Crystal Ski.  Arrived today and the welcome from Madeleine was lovely.

Our room is warm and comfortable and has a lovely view of the Mountains.

The food tonight at Dinner was sensational.

Already a 5,star experience and looking forward to the rest of the week.

Will definitely be back here again.
