Proprietor / Woman was very helpful and quite a” hoot”. Spoke enough English that with my lacking German we were able to communicate, Wonderful old Schloss /Villa with the opportunity to stay in a 16th century Villa with all the classic features such as 7m. ceilings , enormous windows and actual suits of armor all about but with modern bathroom fixtures , comfortable beds  and an enormous center courtyard . Many bits of history throughout the enormous building and evidence of a family member being an artist with multiple bits of art in the building 
No dinner served on-site but walking  distance to several good restaurants . 
Breakfast was certainly not overwhelming but was more than adequate .

Castle living in Aschach

A wonderful place to stay, even for longer. The castle is old, somewhat morbid, with a beautiful courtyard and well maintained, the ceiling is six metres high, the furnishings are intelligently planned and beautifully executed. What a huge room! There is everything there, including a bicycle cellar, and the rest of the building a museum and workshop. The hostess is very insecure, the breakfast is chosen and tasty. Highly recommended.

If you arrive and see the huge oil painting of rapeseed in front of you, you can hardly imagine the idyll behind it.

A very old castle in which the owner is trying to bring life back to this house by renting individual rooms. It was a great night on the Danube road to Vienna. The very friendly staff made the stay even more pleasant.

We are sitting in the beautiful garden of the castle after an adventurous cycling tour enjoying the view and the ambiance! I look forward to a night in a bright and beautiful room - here you want more... Our hosts are attentive and friendly and report interesting. Recommended for everyone, even with children!

It's magically impressive.

We have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the last few years while bicycle touring around the world. This was a very different kind of place to spend the night but everything was perfect, especially the two nice ladies who operate this place. The positives:  you’ll never get an opportunity to stay in a bed and breakfast such as this place with its history dating back to the 1500’s, the 2 ladies are especially friendly and accommodating, the rooms and property are clean, the rooms are updated with modern plumbing and electricity, the water pressure in sink in shower is great, there is no air conditioning but with ceilings over 16 feet high and large windows the room never became warm, very quiet room, good linens and towels, locked bicycle storage, walking distance to several restaurants and grocery store (ask the owner to tell you how to take the walking shortcut to the grocery store), excellent simple served breakfast, owner takes credit cards, building houses some interesting historical artifacts so make sure you tour the open rooms, elevator but a little strange and slow moving(usually faster to climb the stairs than take the elevator), property is next to a grain mill but you can’t hear a thing in your room, excellent WiFi much faster than you’ll get in the average hotel and it doesn’t kick you out every 10 minutes or disappear as guests check in. The negatives:  this place may not suit you if you are looking for a normal hotel but this place allows you a good nights sleep at a nominal charge with everything you’ll need. Bottom line-  we  would happily stay here again. 

Perfect and Eclectic

Unfortunately, the Aschach community has left behind a huge silo outside the castle, so the castle has to play some kind of hide-and-seek. But: it's very worth renting a room there for a few days and having the two lovely older ladies there take care of the service. There are very comfortable rooms in the castle with Internet and remote, up-to-date technology at a low cost, on request also at a high price, which are carefully renovated and wherever, a breakfast on request, an elevator if you want to climb the 70 steps to the second floor where the rooms are, or can't get up or down, and a very helpful, friendly hospitality. We'd love to come back and visit again and again.

One of our most interesting holidays

Once you find the almost desirable place behind the industrial silo towers (it's incredible that something like this was allowed next to a monumental castle), you plunge into another world: not only the ambience of the beautiful loggia courtyard, the rooms, the castle atmosphere... but also the two extremely friendly ladies who make this special kind of first-night rest possible. Despite being small in the adjacent cafe, we were given a favourite golden meal by one of the ladies at our request. Also the breakfast, hot meal, cheese and marshmallow are served very well. And this is a very bad place to get a rest, even if we have to go to the same place on the second day.

How Time Has Fell

We spent the night in the guest house of Aschbach Castle, and from the moment we arrived, the room was perfect, and the two ladies of the house looked after you perfectly.

It's perfect.

Here the overnight guesthouse and the cafe are run by two very nice ladies whose hearts are on the right. The castle is located a little outside behind some unpleasant agricultural industry. The nightmares can be visited for free - absolutely recommendation. You can also visit a gallery of the artist and owner Gordon Markus Gerstner. We felt good right away and it was almost like a visit with relatives. We would love to come back.

Nice stay

The drive, around silos and agricultural plantations, then through a small forest, and suddenly you find yourself in a dreamlike castle, a quiet courtyard with Renaissance arcades. Whether in the afternoon shadows of the trees, or at breakfast, you almost feel like you're going back in time.
