The new, modern concept, as Mr. van den Zanden calls it (since 2022) has been experiencing an extreme decline. The current use of the 4-star pre-concept and the Edelweiß-Homepage is currently limited to fraud, as the level of the house as well as the descriptions and presentations on the homepage absolutely do not match the real situation. Changing ownership destroys traditional hotels

We would also like to thank the Sprenger family very much for the loving and cordial hospitality they have given us over the past few years. Check-in was not ready. Our rooms were not open until the next hour. Finally, there was one to come home. We give the Sprenger family their well-deserved retirement and wish them all the best. The hotel is newly in the hands of the Van der Zanden family. As every year we had already booked for 2 weeks in 2021. We had also booked in Berwang at 13:00. Check-in was not ready. We have been unable to pay a visit to the Hotel in front of the Bath/WC, but we have been unable to pay a fee. The hotel's staff was unable to pay a fee until the end of the day. The worst holidays of our long life.

It is a wonderful hotel, a wonderful setting, a very good kitchen, a perfectly clean hotel room.

Staying in a beautiful region and a lovely hotel.

An old school family business where you feel committed to the well-being of the guest. A pleasant atmosphere, delicious breakfast, 3 menus + children's menu to choose from in the evening with very friendly service. A beautiful and well-kept spa area with 3 great aquariums.

Feeling well

The hotel has only about 20 rooms.With very good facilities.A beautiful wellness area is accessible by elevator directly from all floors.The guest rooms are very beautifully designed in Alpine style with lots of wood.The half-board is excellent including a well-sorted wine map of Austrian wine regions.Personal wishes have been fulfilled by the Sprenger family as far as possible.The next ski lift to enter the Berwanger Ski Arena is only about 100 m from the hotel.A perfect hotel for a successful skiing trip.

Very nice, family-run Alpine hotel with perfect ambience.

Our vacation at the Hotel Edelweiss was unique. The hospitality of the Sprenger family is hardly to be surpassed, whether it be in terms of well-being in the model aviation or culinary sector. The service staff is very competent and you lack nothing. The Sprenger family does not leave any wishes open and spoils the guests so much that the farewell is visually difficult. We look forward to seeing you again!

Pleasant, relaxed - where you feel at home

During a trip around Europe...we stayed at this hotel for two nights and words can’t express my gratitude and appreciation for the facilities, the food and most of all the family that run this perfect hotel in this beautiful part of Austria.  

Bikers trip

We visited the Edelweiss Hotel in Berwang for an extended weekend. As always, everything was perfect this time as well. The rooms, service and food were very good. Thank you very much to the Sprenger family who run their hotel with a lot of heart and great charm. As always, we were also there this time for the model flight. Here again we were supported with advice and action by the kings (Jakob and Hartwig Sprenger and our club colleague Stefan) on the ground. We will surely go back next year.

Great days at the noble house in Berwang

Our family of 5, including 3 children aged 3, 5 and 10 spent 10 excellent nights staying at Hotel Edelweiss in Berwang. The staff and whole hotel experience were first class. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The hotel has a real family feel. The décor is beautiful - a real Austrian wooden feel. The views from the hotel are spectacular. Mountains and views everywhere. The children's play area downstairs was a real treat for our girls. Also the odd bit of magic at the end of an evening meal, added to the whole experience. Bedrooms are very clean and comfortable. The food is excellent. Breakfast and evening meals provide great choice and there is something to suit all tastes. Ice creams are huge and delicious. We are so glad that we stayed at this hotel. It is located in a quiet mountain village and so close to other bigger towns or villages.

Family Summer Holiday

This year too, we made the Berwang Edelweiss our destination for a few cozy days. Like the last few visits, we also felt very comfortable with this email again. Nice and extremely helpful hosts, cozy rooms and very good food. What more do you want? We could store our model planes in the huge basement and let them fly during the day at the hotel's very well-maintained model airport. We really enjoyed the time and will definitely be back next year!
