We booked through Crystal and stayed in the one bedroom apartment with our son in the lounge.  I was apprehensive about this arrangement as he’s now a teenager and taller than me, but the apartment was lovely and spacious and the mattress in the living room was a full sized single and I had no complaints about it.

Our apartment was well furnished with just about everything you’d need except for a microwave.  Wifi was pretty good.

We had added in breakfast and whilst the staff were lovely and we had the option of boiled or scrambled egg each morning, if I was to go back I’d prefer to self cater as the Spar is just down the road and the selection for breakfast was okay but not amazing.

We used the sauna a couple of times - being British we ignored the instructions to go naked but stood out a bit in our costumes.  There’s also a not brilliant gym with a few machines ( no real weights) and an odd room that clearly used to be a bar where there was billiards and we could leave our luggage in the morning.

Attached to the aparthotel is a lovely wee bar called Relax.  Great for us to have a drink but not be too far from our son.  The Pina Colada is amazing.

Apartment is situated at the end of Ellmau, but as it’s not a huge village it’s only a 5-10 minute walk to most places and there is a ski bus stop at the back of the car park.

If we were to come back to Ellmau, I’d definitely be happy to stay at Tom Sojer again.

Nice apartments with excellent service

The apartment was a good size but the bathroom could have been cleaned better.  Having never done self catering in Europe before, I was surprised to find nothing to clean dishes with other than some liquid.  Luckily the Spar supermarket is a couple of minutes walk away and there are several good restaurants so no need to cook.  The advertised bar and games room was not as expected! The location for getting on the ski bus is good, but coming back a little further to walk.

Quiet location

I stayed in the Tom Sojer apartments with my son and family friends for a ski holiday last week. We were greeted cheerily when we arrived, check in was swift and our apartment was ready even though we arrived quite early.
The apartment itself was spacious and nicely decorated. Furnishings were tasteful and quite new. The kitchen was small but well equipped with hob, oven, microwave & plenty of utensils.
Bedrooms were comfortable with reasonable space for clothes and other stuff. The bathroom was large, modern and very warm.
Everything in the apartment worked perfectly.
The apartment is a short walk from the ski bus and town centre.
If we return to Ellmau for skiing, I would definitely stay here again.

Warm, comfortable, well furnished apartments

We have stayed here twice and were surprised by the size and standard of the apartments.  Very clean and with all the basic facilities you need plus a few luxuries such as big TVs in both rooms .  Well located for the ski bus and the village centre and nice and quiet at night. Also the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. We will be back next year

Great apartments

We stayed here over Christmas for some skiing and found it to be a great apartment. Nice and roomy with a fully working kitchen and bathroom facilities.

The staff and the booking process were good. The only slight negative was a lack of knives for cutting bread and general kitchen duties.

Well located apartment.

We have just returned from a fabulous two week stay at the Apparthotel Tom Sojer. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment facing the Hartkaiser. The apartment was well equipped and very comfortable with a lovely private balcony with views of the mountains. We had a warm welcome and everyone at the apartments was very friendly. You are provided with lots of information about the local area and a daily newsletter which lets you know about any local events and attractions and the following day's weather forecast. Ellmau is a great base for exploring this area of Austria with plenty of shops and restaurants in the village. Hopefully we will be back next year for another stay.
