We were staying in Hotel Ulrike during the first week in September. We had an apartment  with direct access to big shared garden. Our apartment had two separate rooms which we chosen because of our baby (1,5 year). Room service was excellent and even dishes were cleaned after us which was a pleasant surprise. Room was clean and cleaned on daily basis. Furniture is a bit older but room was well equipped. We have found several spiders inside.

The hotel serves only breakfast that was tasty even though we expected bigger and better selection. Restaurants are in the center of Spitz (10min. walk). The hotel is located in a quiet place surrounded by vineyard situated in the hill. We liked the quiet very much. Wifi is for free but only nearby reception.

The staff was very helpful and willingful.

Great place to stay in Spitz. Good location. Honor bar at night after hours. Wonderful breakfast. Owners son was very friendly and helpful. Stayed here on biking trip. Hotel is up the hill so save your energy for the ride up!

Great little inn. Owner is wonderful - honor bar, comfy bed. Quite a ways up the hill but beautiful. Honor bar at night 

Very basic. In need of an upgrade. Son friendly but mother grumpy and charged me a cleaning fee for spilling coffee and breaking a cup after my shirt got caught in the doorknob and the tray fell.... 
The son did give us a lift to the ferry though. 
Spitz is a beautiful town and sure there is a lot better accommodation there. 
We were on a pre arranged family cycle tour along Danube river so did not choose accommodation.

Do not bother

We arrived in the rain but received a very warm welcome. The hotel is at the top of the hill and the main restaurants are at the bottom! But umbrellas are provided in the entrance if you want to walk. It's fine going down but a climb up! We got a taxi up one night, only €5. Breakfast is excellent, always replenished if things get low. Cereals, fruit and yoghurt, hams, cheeses, pate, salad ,rolls, jams etc.  The proprietors are very attentive. One morning we ate outside in the delightful patio area. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, first floor with a balcony, ground floor out onto the garden. Cushions and table covers are kept in chests outside in the patio area. One of our party had a birthday and was presented with a bottle of wine!  It's the little touches like these that make  this hotel special. Highly recommended. A big thank you to our hosts for making us so welcome.

A haven of tranquility

The hotel is located on top of Spitz, in a walking distance from the main square, restaurants and caffe. The rooms are simple but clean and spacious, the layout of the property is originally an agricultural building so it has some charm to it, most rooms have direct access to a garden or at least a balcony, which is nice. The breakfast is a bit simple, but fresh bread is provided and home made marmalade, otherwise it is a bit "septic" - tasteless ham and cheese, while other places offer local bacon and local cheese. it is more "pension like" than a hotel, but good value for the money and location. Heurigen can be arranged upon request in a neighbouring wineries, so it was a value added event.
