Located near the village Emmersdorf, with great views across the Danube to Melk Abbey.
Friendly hosts who provided an excellent breakfast to commence each day.
Comfortable and clean room with balcony views at an affordable price. 
Drinks were available on an honesty system.
Off street car parking was a bonus.

B&B with great views on the edge of a village

We spent four enjoyable days here. Emmersdorf is a nice town near the Danube.  From all part of the house there is a charming view to the Melk Abbey. The garden was full with flowers, it’s a calm place at the end of the days or for reading. 
The owners are very welcoming and helpful, they gave us many informations and advices what worth to see. First day we used their free bikes to discover the Wachau. In the evenings we enjoyed the sunset and the Abbey-view from our balcony with fine wine, made by the owners. 
In the upper level was a self-service wine-fridge, you wrote up what you consumed and paid at check out. It was very comfortable.
The homemade apricot marmelade for breakfast was very tasty, hearty breakfast.

Charming place at the gate of Wachau

I am an Austrian, American and visit my elderly Mother in Austria twice a year. On my last visit in Nov. 1013 I stayed 3 days at the House Sundl in Emmersdorf, near Melk, Austria.
I had a charming, spacious room with a beautiful view to the Abby Melk. The breakfast was 
excellent with homemade apricot jam und the hosts were most welcoming and helpful.
I would highly recommend this place.

Very nice place

This pension (B&B) is a very personable accommodation which I can highly recommend. The owners go out of their way to please & look after their guests. The location is super quiet and a mere 5 minutes walk from the center of Emmersdorf village in which there are two Gasthaus restaurants to choose from. 
Both of the rooms we had opportunity to try had a magnificent view over-looking fields directly towards Melk monastery, which was a short distance away, and were nicely appointed. Our hosts made every effort to think ahead for what a guest may want to make their stay more enjoyable. In the hallway on the middle floor was a mini-fridge and wine rack stocked with their local wine and beer which was available for purchase on a honor system. You write down what you consumed and pay for it at check out.
Wireless Internet was provided and they were in the process of upgrading their system for better coverage on the top floor. 
The breakfast was as is to be expected from a nice Austrian B&B. We really enjoyed our stay and would return again when in the area.

A very personable Pension

Despite making a reservation 3 months in advance for a family group travelling from Canada, and despite confirming the reservation 4 days before arrival, I was informed that there were no rooms available for our group of eight on the morning of the day we should have stayed at Haus Sundl. Frau Sundl told me repeatedly that they have so many guests and could rent the room several times over, and she kept the room available for her "Stammkunden" (regular visitors). I speak fluent German so there was no problem with communication. Frau Sundl had arranged two alternate places to stay, thereby splitting up our group of 8 into two groups of four. While disappointing, we all accepted that these things do happen when travelling. What added insult to injury however, was Frau Sundl then telling me that the B&Bs she had arranged for us could also rent out the rooms to other guests and that she hoped we would honour the arrangements she had made on our behalf. Her unprofessional and unfriendly manner lead me to a one-star rating. Over-bookings can happen, but that is no reason to insult the guests.
