This was third time that we spend a week at Feriendorf Wallenburg in Fieberbrunn. In total it was our 7th visit to Fieberbrunn for family ski holiday. We think this is the best place, better than the hotels we also tried: Hoch Tirol, Trend and Sport hotels. Lovely chalets that are well equipped and easily fit a family of 4. It's only a 10 minute walk to the ski lifts where you can store your skis and ski boots in a locker. We always take breakfast and dinner at the Capanna restaurant (halb pension) which is great, excellent breakfast and dinner. Staff is very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

Best place in Fieberbrunn

This small 'feriendorf' consists of 5 chalet-type houses in traditional Austrian built (but with all the modern amineties & comforts) and a main building where the owners live and where the restaurant is. Each house contains 2 apartments: 1 on ground level & 1 on the upper level. Groundlevel apartments have a walk-out patio with a small lawn & patio furniture, upper level apartments have a balcony with furniture (both are sort of south-facing and have a lot of sun during the day. There is a choice of apartments with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. The complex is situated a bitt higher on a slope, with nice views over the valley and the mountains. 

We visited Wallenburg for the first time 5 years ago (when it had just opened) and were pleasantly surprised that now, 5 years later,  the accomodations where still in great shape and very well maintained. The interiors where upgraded with new couches and everything is very CLEAN. The view is fantastic: from the masterbedroom you'll see the mountain and from the livingroom you'll see the lift (Fieberbrunner Bergbahnen).

We (3 adults) stayed in a ground level 3-bedroom apartment. Layout: smaller bedroom with 2 single beds and 2 bedrooms with king-beds, a bathroom with a shower, 2 washbasins & a toilet as well as a seperate toilet. Livingroom with comfy couch, flatscreen satellite tv (mostly Austrian channels), dining table with 6 chairs and a fully equipped (open) kitchen (4 burner stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster etc. & plenty of glasses, flatware & cutlery). Upon arrival the beds are made (linens are included) and towels are provided.

A small pool is available in the summer and there are is also a small playground. There is a restaurant in the main building (which we didn't use). The owners are very pleasant and helpful. Extra's for a fee: internet, breakfast-buns delivery, pet friendly (fee), additional bed, change of linens/towels, laundry facilities.

It's a short walk to the Fieberbrunner Bergbahnen I mentioned above. In summer it provides great hiking opportunities and in winter you'll have fun skiing there. Fieberbrunn itself is a small village with the usual stores (2 larger groceriesstores are within a 20 min. walk from the feriendorf).

A very nice place to visit in summer and I think it will also be great in winter. Both times we visited we stayed at a groundlevel apartment and the upper level wasn't occupied, so I'm not sure if it'll be noisy (wooden floors/people walking around etc.) when the upper level is rented out. 

ATTENTION: the feriendorf is situated on a slope, so you'll need to drive up a rather steep driveway to get to the accomodations. You'll defenitely need snowchains in winter!
