We arrived at Haus Christoph on the 3rd February and stayed for one week. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the property was really cosy and well equipped. Our room was fantastic (room 6), we had a big bed, balcony, sofa and small kitchenette which was very handy as we were so tired most evenings we preferred to cook for ourselves. The walk to the bus stops and the Finkenbahn only took 5-10 minutes. We brought our ski passes from Haus Chrisptoph which were £206 each for 5 days out of 7. The local Spar was only a 15 minute walk but do check opening / closing times. It closed at 12pm and reopened at 3.30pm until 6.30pm which caught us out one day. Boot room storage was great and easy access from there to the gondola. I'm glad we stayed in Finkenberg over Mayrhofen as it was a more chilled vibe and still easy to get to and from Mayrhofen if we wanted the nightlife. A taxi back in the evenings was 15 euros (buses stop at 7.30pm). My favourite area on the piste map was Ahorn which took 50 minutes to get to. This was good for us as we're beginners. Breakfast was very basic but more than enough....yogurt, cereals, bread, cheese, boiled eggs, spreads and ham and a nice pot of coffee every morning.

Great base

We found the website of Haus Astrid & Christoph, which was both in German and English. We tried several times to book the rooms for our stay via their request form. We received no reply, and tried to call them. When we asked the woman on the phone if she speaks English (we don't speak German), she said harshly 'No' and dropped the phone. We opened Google Translator, and tried to call again several times, but nobody bothered to pick up the phone.. 
We don't understand such a rude attitude. If you translate your website into English, then you should speak some English! Answering email requests, picking up the phone and being polite are also a Must, if you really want to attract clients from abroad! 
P.S. They had free rooms for our dates, we checked several online booking systems. 
Moreover, after unsuccessful calls, we asked our German friends to call them - and, surprisingly, they picked up the phone (from a German number and speaking German)... We will certainly not go there after such terrible attitude...
