We spent a week of our family vacation with our small daughter in a comfort room and we are fully satisfied with all aspects of this hotel’s service.
Our stay at Gasthof Feichter was great, it is by far one of our best hotel experience ever.
I must say that the one thing that made this extraordinary is the great atmosphere and the genuinely nice and care taking family and staff.
Very traditional room, spacious, well-furnished and spotlessly clean; at the restaurant a table was assigned to us and prepared in a very pretty way. There was also a very pleasant garden where there is the possibility of having breakfast and relax.
The food and drinks selection were delicious, extremely varied and mostly authentic Austrian.
Anna and her family helped us to find places to visit and sort main attractions during the entire week, including the activation of the Kärnten Card that is strongly recommended for the main destinations of that area.
They were always willing to support and attentive to our needs, including all our many dietary and services requirements for our daughter and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Chatting to other customers and many come here year after year so that speaks for itself.
I must admit that i didn’t know at all Carinthia before this trip and a special mention goes to this State and the surrounding area , including the neighbouring Slovenia : they offers so many activities and places to visit that alone is worth something.Then add Anna, her wonderful family and the helpful staff who made us feel at home- so worth it 100%!

Outstanding Hotel, excellent location, lovely family

We have just returned from a long weekend in Austria and we stayed at the Gasthof Feichter. Our first impression was amazing - the outside covered in white petunias, the inside with photos of the family who own the guest house. We were greeted so nicely and Anna was so helpful. Anna was able to answer our questions about the area, suggest places to rent bikes and even recommended a local Farmer's market which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The breakfast was delicious and was refilled quickly, a range of pastries, bread, cheese, ham, cereal, yoghurt and you can request eggs. We also had dinner twice at the guest house and we absolutely loved it - delicious food at really reasonable prices. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble.

The area is perfect, a short drive from Faaker-See where we rented Kayaks. Our room was very nice and clean and we were lucky enough to get a lovely view of the mountains.

All in all, it was a fantastic trip and we couldn't have asked for somewhere better to stay. We will definitely be back!

A great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. If we had realized how beautiful the area really was and how hospitable the welcome was we would have allowed longer for our visit. Anna and her family made our visitthe highlight of our time in Europe!

Great family run accommodation in a beautiful location

I've been here in september  for HD anual meeting . Location is great , 3 km away from Faak , you can even walk there if you want to drink without a problem . Lovely small family hotel ,clean , nice rooms , good - tipical austrian food -, staff very polite and friendly . Recommend , you will not be dissapointed .

Great . Recommend!

Extremely friendly and helpful small family run Gasthof.  The rooms were very acceptable although better light control from more substantial curtains would have been appreciated.  The breakfast was excellent and we shall certainly make a return visit and eat there, by which time some noisy building work will have been finalised.

Good convenient rustic setting

This place was extremely lovely- we stayed here for 3 days and would definitely go back! This is a small family run hotel with great service. The owners were so lovely- the husband even drove my daughter and I to Villach when my husband had a day of snowboarding with some of our friends. The wife even gave my daughter a christmas ornament from their christmas tree as a souviner to remember our trip. Thats just how sweet they are!
The room was clean and comfortable. The view from our window was great- mountains in the background. A baby cot was organized for us (traveling with a 16 month old). Lots of tv channels (though all in German!) there were always cartoon channels to keep the little one entertained. Bathroom was lovely (we had a room on the 2nd floor). Wifi was free and I had access in my room.
The hotel is a short, walk able distance to the Finkenstein train station. Very easy to get to Villach by train (the owners even printed out the train timetable for me). BUT train is every hour... A big difference for us coming from Asia ;) 
Anyhow, was a very nice stay and I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting around the area. The owners were amazing and did absolutely everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Also, the wiener schnitzel was amazing!

Absolutely lovely!

As a stop on a trip across Europe, this place ticks all the boxes. Clean, comfy room, free wifi, decent value restaurant, excellent service. Take care that you put the right address in your satnav though! Faakerseestrasse, not Faaker-see-strasse, or you'll wind up in the wrong part of town...
