I stayed here in 2018 with my son and his wife to visit friends who live in the area, and who recommended this hotel. Reasonably priced and immaculately clean this family owned hotel is conveniently situated in the pretty and historic town of Freistadt. The included breakfast was fresh with local produce and fresh baked breads, and the separate bar and cafe was a pleasant and comfortable place for late drinks before bed or meeting friends for lunch. There are also hand made gifts and local produce for sale here. I really enjoyed my stay  and look forward to staying here again next time I visit my Austrian friends.

Lovely family-run hotel

Very good room with excellent reasonably priced breakfast. My wife and I loved staying here. The staff were very friendly and the room was exceptionally clean. Mattress was very comfortable. Just a 3 minute walk to Freistadher Beer Factory or the old town square of Freistadt. Enjoyed the convenience of breakfast every morning. Manager of hotel baked all the breads for the breakfast buffet which were quite tasty and fresh. We would stay here again. Good central location to explore upper Austria, a green wonderland of castles, forests and lakes.

I am here every 6 months and every time it is wonderful to experience the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. WiFi improved a lot since my last visit, breakfast good and clean and large rooms. Price quality is just fun if you see how much you get!

We stayed here for one night. Our hosts were very friendly and the rooms were very clean. The hotel is located very close to the braucommune, the museum and all stores and restaurant. Breakfast is included and had home baking, fresh squeezed joke, and home made jams. 

Clean, central and wonderful owners

I had booked a single room over tiscover for one night (price was € 38,-- per night) and was happy whenever I noticed that I received a double room as I prefer big beds due to my height ;-) The welcome was really friendly and I even received a guest-card which I had to put behind the windscreen and which allowed to park all over the city for free. But in fact there are some parking spaces just in front of the hotel too. The hotel itself is placed in the city centre (old part) just around the corner of the brewery (which is cool if you wanna go there too). 
The room was quite big (as mentioned below) with a big bathroom, a double bed, a table plus sofa and chairs. It was equipped with a (old and small) TV, hairdryer and safe (in the cupboard). All in all, nothin´was missing .... 
The breakfast was a buffett which even offered a gluten-free cereal (which I would not have expected in such a small hotel) and everything else you would think of. Actually I only tried the coffee which was really nice and none of the coffee capsules-stuff, just REAL coffee which means a lot to me ;-) While having breakfast I had a nice chat with the owner which I really appreciated a lot. So thumbs up - a nice city, a nice hotel, just go and check it out yourself!
