Review Kostenzer Apartment 5

The Good:  
Note that the apartment is street level and contains two bedrooms and a bathroom with a single (but separate) toilet.  It has a large sized living/kitchen with a corner bench seat and a large closet for clothes for any that sleep on the pull-out.  The kitchen is complete with a conventional oven, a microwave dishwasher, coffee maker and kettle as well as an extractor hood.  The cutlery and plates are complete but a bit of mix and match.  Some supplies will be left behind but hit and miss, so check when you arrive and buy what you need.  The bedrooms are a nice size but the bed covers are hot (even in winter) and the pillows are so old that they flatten to non-existence, clearly need to be renewed.    There is a ski-rack in the hallway for two sets of four skiers, you share it with apt 6.  
The bad: 
The heating was only turned on after I called to complain about four times in the first 36 hours.  After that the heating was uncontrollable, the thermostatic knobs are mostly non-functional and the temperature too high.  A large number of light bulbs were broken.  The Main Breaker would trip every time the oven was turned off, looks to be an issue with spark detection, not funny if you are in the shower which has no external light at all.   No hairdryer and no bath mats anywhere…   Parking is becoming an issue as the neighboring hotel has gobbled up half the parking lot in an (ugly) expansion project.  The curtains are thin and the sun will wake you up but that may not be issue for everyone.  
The Ugly: 
Plain ugly is the seating corner with a couch that is grossly dirty and has ripped seat cushions.  Should have been replaced during the last century it seems.  Noise; the largest bedroom is noisy as any persons in the neighboring apartment can be heard very clearly.  My wife disliked that it is at street level.  Tiny flat screen TV which we did not even try to switch on.  The WiFi does not have access control and at night it seems half the neighboring hotel guests are surfing on it.  Easy fix but apparently an insurmountable problem for the owners.
