We called and reserved a table. When arriving on time they had no reservation. At the end 3 out of 4 persons recieved their food. Then 15 minutes after the 4th person also recieved the food but only half. The wine to the food was recieved after the food was delivered. In general an evening to forgett. Dear Skoff you will never see us again and we will tell all our friends to avoid to bad experience.

We had dinner on a summernight on the terrace with beatiful view on the Sernauberg and the sunset. This is a traditional buschenschank with basic comfort but good service and with the advantage to offer also warm dishes. The food was traditional but up to standard. If we come back, it is for the view rather than the food. The wine, as in all vineries of the area was excellent. This is a rating for the restaurant, not the hotel.

Ideal for the sunset

Went here one evening to eat and taste the wines. And had the chance to admire the sunset. Peter Skoff knows it all about his wines and most helpfully let us taste several. The food also was really excellent. Just light nibbles to enhance the wine but great quality

Beautiful location, great wine

We ate here twice when staying at a nearby Hotel. We rather wish we had stayed here. The staff are simply lovely, the welcome warm and friendly whilst at the same time utterly professional. The menu is much better than the average Buschenschank with some excellent cooking. Of course the wines are superb. As well as the usual options I tried their Riesling which I thought was rich, velvety and complex. the terrace has spectacular views and the sunsets can be breathtaking. Very simply - it is just a lovely place run by lovely people. Don't miss it!

Two lovely evenings

In the wine route of South Styria there are a lot of vinerys in top quality, you just have to make your mind up to which one you want to go and which wine you want to taste.
 
We visited the vinery „Skoff Original“ because we love their wines, you can also eat there wonderful self made cold and warm dishes and you have a fantastic view from the terrace to the vineyards in the sunset.

We stayed here one night, with in an elegant room with magnificent view to the wineyars and hills. The only tiny succession to improve the rooms is to have a small place to open the luggage.

Diederick was excelent host with very thorough knowledge of the wines. We could have the wine tasting, even the testing room was closed. 

The dinner menu was quite simple with local dishes, but very tasty. Naturally dishes were supported by excellent Skoff wines.

Simply good!

Stayed for 5 days in August and enjoyed a very modern luxuriously furnished room (No 3), which right above main "restaurant" area and even though a bus group of guests sang below, we enjoyed a very quiet room, free from any guest noise below. The views from the room are phenomenal (see included panorama view from balcony). Fantastic room to relax and unwind. The restaurant (Buschenschank) is fab inside and great outside with great views whenever weather permits to stay outside. Service was excellent and staff most friendly. The food service is traditional but excellent with most local specialities on offer. The location is great for exploring the entire South Styria region and excellent for (extended) walking. We walked a long strech of the "Granzpanoramaweg" (2 x 4+ hours) along the border with Slovenia, which offers great scenic ways and views. Overall this was a special place to stay for a week and I highly recommend it. Don't miss the great wines produced by Skoff which you can enjoy in the house.
