Me and my wife stayed in this very nice town on our way back to Switzerland from Slovenia. 
We had a lovely meal in this very good restaurant.The food service and welcome just great.
If I am in the area again I know where to eat.

Clean and pleasant 

Every we spend a couple of nights here.
It´s a very nice family run hotel in the middle of town.
There is free parking at the back of the hotel and once
inside you feel like you have travelled back in time - in a very positive sence.
This time we stayed in a room facing the street.
No proble there, it´s  a quiet town.
The whole interior of the hotel is worth a visit in it´s own right
and owner and staff are very friendly

A must on the way south

This was not our first visit and hopefully not our last.
The owner and staff are very friendly and positive.
Service in the restaurant is flawless.
And the rooms...... are something special.
In the main building some of the rooms are 
decorated as rooms in a private building would be.
Really something out of the usual.
And if you think this all to much to take in you
can always ask for a more standardized room in the annex.

This Restaurant and Hotel has a Long Family Tradition and offers typical austrian dishes in high Quality. in Summertime it is possible to sit out in front of the house and get a good Feeling what is going on in the middleaged City of Gmünd

old town inn

Stayed on night in this hotel recently. Rooms are large and spacious with an eclectic range of old fashioned furniture which has it's own charm. Our room was large with an excellent bathroom and a small range of toiletries were supplied. Food in the restaurant was very good as was breakfast the following morning. The hotel was ideally placed right in the centre of the town. The only problem with this hotel was the abundance of flies. Yes I know you are out in the country but surely something can be done to try and cope with the number of insects flying around, especially where food is served. Nothing seems to be done to try and eliminate the problem. Top tip, take your own can of fly spray!
